Sig P226?

I would like one, but am curious as to whether people have had problems with theirs and what those problems might be? Picky with ammo? FTF or FTE's?
I had a stainless one and it wasn't that reliable...ammo that worked in my 92FS or M&P would fail in the 226

LOL... hey when I got the 226 I was like 'wow this might be my new favourite gun' as the quality, fit and finish were top notch. Needless to say I was a bit disappointed. :(

I had a used P220st after that, don't remember how many rounds I put thru it (under 500 for sure) but I think I had a couple of fte's with it as well... Oh well I gave Sig a fair shot.

Must be the HIGH quality reloads you use. Lol.

I suspect it must be ammo you are using. I've never experienced any problems with my Sigs (and over 15,000 rounds) and don't know anyone else who has. Malfunctions with Sigs are few and far between and to experience them in two different pistols is very unlikely.

I don't think I shot a single round of factory ammo thru either gun. (why pay up to $20 a box after tax if I can make one for $7-8?). But all I can say is that when I reload I make ONE load and then feed it to ALL my guns in that caliber. At that time I had 2 other 9x19's - 92FS and M&P9, and Sig was the only one that had problems. Other 2 were 100% (I think M&P jammed once when a new female shooter was using it, but that's all.) I take pride in ammo I load and trust it as much or more than mass produced factory ammo :)

I'm not anti SIG - I liked the look, feel and accuracy of the 226 but before all I want my guns to be reliable. If they were under a $1000 new maybe I'd get another one...

ps: If anyone's interested I can look up the loads I was using, but they are with in specs that I can guarantee.

Hey Adam F85,

My sig 226 had no problem what-so-ever.
even when my brother accidentally dropped it the other day :(
Now i have surface scratches on my beauty :'(

As for the Elite SS 9mm, you'd still be looking at over $1000 for a well taken care of Sig P226.

These pistols are WELL WORTH the price for the AMAZING quality.
Especially the SA/DA trigger! WOW shoots like a dream.

Thanks c9 gunner, I think I will have to save for one. I like my Glock but the P226 is so much more accurate Ive found. A buddy of mine at the range told me its the best pistol hes ever owned aswell, I shot his and it was awesome. And they are beautiful pistols.
Im jealous haha

Here is an example of the quality you can expect out of your sig 226

Sorry, couldn't figure out how to embed the video. Its 1m:17s video, a dude smokes a 226 with baseball bat into a concrete wall, then picks it up and fires it without a problem

Right, my pistol is better than yours 'cause I can hit it with a baseball bat, drop it from an helicopter, drive it in the dirt, roll over it with a F150, flush it down the toilet, etc... AND IT WILL SHOOT FINE AFTERWARD!!!

Those are true signs of quality f:P:2:

Seriously, the sig is well engineered and proven design, it's very accurate and has a better than average trigger pull out of the box; my 2 cents :D

I picked up a pair of standard P226's last year for a sum of $600, and I love them. I was gonna sell one to recover a bit of money, but after shooting them they are keepers. They are ultra reliable not a single malfunction yet. They are also extremely accurate with 140 gr cast SWC's, with no leading issues which is a bonus.

I've had a few P226's in the last 15 years or so and never experienced any FTF of FTE with any of them! One of the best hi-cap 9mm there is. Beautifully crafted and engineered.
