45 acp??? projectiles

A generalization, would be, that 451 is the diameter of jacketted projectiles, and 452 would be cast lead projectiles. However there are exceptions, and you're likely to be fine either way.

there's only 19-21k worth of pressure in the 45 anyway- i have yet to see a handload listed or factory that even approaches that-

What curtmg said. .452 for cast, .451 for jacketed, but its not set in stone.

You aren't going to blow up any .45 ACP gun with .452" bullets if you follow safe reloading practices. Even a hard cast lead bullet can easily squeeze down to fit the bore.

so if i dont want to blow my kimber up, its a safe bet just to stick with 451?

A safer bet, would be to just send it to me for safekeeping :p

You'll do way more damage with improper amounts of powder, than you'll ever do with bullets .001" too big. .452" would be fine. Just don't use any 454" as they would be for the old school 45 colt's. They'd also likely be heavier than you'd want to use in 45acp.
