10/22 Custom Receivers

Did he say which one it had to be? Under $100? When did you hear this?

I emailed them about a month ago to ask about a 10/22 magnum trigger group. They told me that they could ship only one and that the the one I was looking at ($109) would not be a problem. I'm guessing that they would probably charge you $99 for the trigger group and make the rest up on inflated shipping. :D You could always email them...;)

Cool. I was looking at their 10/22 trigger and now they are using the polymer housing so I am going to pass.

Hornet Products will send you whatever triggers that are under $100.
I think they had at least 2 models under that price.

Polymer groups are not that popular, but they are not completely crap
(how some people are saying).

Remember that the pin holes are drilled more precise
in the polymer group than in the old aluminum one
(the distance between the holes is more consistent
and the holes are paralel in the polymer housing
when compared to the aluminum group).

I had few groups from Hornet (polymer and aluminum)
and I can tell you that they are the best thing for the price.

I would gladly trade my current factory trigger assembly for a polymer one. I've looked at them and they look decent, and anything has to be better than the pot metal they are made of now. Polymer would be much more durable.

I bear part of the guilt in all this un-popularity of the plastic trigger groups
since I started a thread about them some time ago.

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=231696

The reason was that a lot of people (including myself)
were pissed-off at that time because Ruger
did not announce it in any way (officially or not)
they just switched to plastic like there was nothing changed,
and the general feeling was that they tried to bring it in
through the back door like a cheap prostitute.

It was nice if they made public some tests, trials, numbers,
prior to just switching to plastic, but they didn't.

Right now, the plastic TG's have enough number of shots in the field,
and it's safe to say that they stand their ground and
they perform at the same level with the aluminum ones.

plastic trigger guards a fine until you want to do a stainless 1022. the aluminum one can be stripped and polished the plastic one not so much .

I just ordered the Hornet Product 2 stage trigger. It was a little more then $100 however when you click on the product description, it still says they will ship 1 to Canada....:)

Now I just need to get a 10/22.

Just a heads up.
I checked Fabsports website, looks like he's going to be bringing in KID triggers, bolts and barrels.

whats involved in finishing the 80% recievers?

as far as i can see, one would need to drill trigger group holes, thread the hold down screw hole, thread the v block holes, anything else??

To complete the receiver blank you'd need to:

1) Drill two cross pin holes through 3/16

2) Drill stock hold down screw hole #16 drill and tap #12x24 tpi

3) Drill two #16 holes for V-block and tap with #12x24 tpi.

4) Drill (counter bore) two 1/4 holes v-block .700 inch deep.

5) Drill/bore the barrel hole to 11/16

6) Drill 1/16 deep the bolt return spring rod seat with 1/8 drill

w:h: w:h: w:h: I just got my new Kidd scaloped bolt and Red Tacsol Extended mag release. :D Just waiting for my Dlask frame & barrel to show up.. I'm still looking for a B&C Anschutz or varmint stock which is hard to find.
