Russian handgun - OCA

Interesting. Primarily for non-lethal self defense and signaling. Of note is the rubber bullet which delivers 85J of muzzle energy but only 120m/s velocity. Puts it in the realm of exempted firearm.

Better yet puts it in the realm of exempted and not prohibited - not a firearm and not prohib by name (like all of the other defensive devices)

it basically says that this thing can shoot bullets, flares, electroshock rounds, is water proof, shock proof, can automatically detect if there is a round in it in order to fire it, can come with different strength of rounds (to injure, kill, stun, make visible and so on). Kind of an interesting concept..

Long ago  , the RCMP "tech" I've asked - regarding this particular firearm - was so totally "out to lunch" that I didn't even feel the need to debate the matter with him..........

His argument was "If it can fire 'gas cartridges' it'd be a prohibited device" (keep in mind that it can also fire the rubber-rounds [seen in this video] at sub-"firearm" velocities that - per the CFC  - would make it not unlike an air-pistol :yingyang: , and the barrel is specifically designed to rupture if cartridges of any higher velocity are used in the pistol):bangHead:......to which I responded that just b/c a shotgun can also fire the "prohibited" flechette :D , that doesn't mean we ban all shotguns....

I seriously fear for this great country :canadaFlag: , sometimes....

I like this one better, you see...;)
