Letter from Bud.

Date: March 18, 2010

Reference: Barrie and the 2010 IPSC Ontario Provincials

Dear John;

This letter is to inform you that effective immediately your position as the IPSC Ontario Club Representative for the Barrie Gun Club is revoked. IPSC Ontario will notify the Barrie Gun Club IPSC members that they will need to elect a new Club Rep at their earliest convenience. In the meantime, IPSC Ontario will appoint someone to this position.

Further be advised your credentials as a Range Officer under the auspices of IPSC Ontario has been revoked by IPSC Ontario Section Coordinator, Rachel Blum. If you have any questions, please contact Rachel. Furthermore, Rachel will be contacting head of NROI Canada, Mark Hamrol to notify him of your conduct with regard to the IPSC Ontario Section Coordinator's decision as to who will be the Range Master for the 2010 IPSC Ontario Provincial Championship.

It is unfortunate that it has come to this but you must understand that the decision as to who shall be the Range Master for the IPSC Ontario Provincial Championship is not yours. This is an IPSC Ontario Level III IPSC competitions and not a Barrie Gun Club match. Because of your conduct and that of Kent Hill, we have no choice but to refuse the Barrie Gun Club the opportunity to host the 2010 IPSC Ontario Provincials.

Sincerely;

Rachel Blum - Section Coordinator, IPSC Ontario
Bud Melless - IPSC Ontario Firearms Training Director

Sorry Guys.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Just to let everyone know there will be a IPSC Ontario Provinical Championship match. The details will be out shorty.
Rachel Blum
President/Section Coordinator
IPSC Ontario

Why the agressive posture and I also agree why would a club be interested in hosting Provincials if this is what they do if you don't play ball.

:D

Hey...wait a minute

Sorry Quigley, not aimed at you.

Here we go,
First of all I would like to make it clear that Kent had nothing to do with this But got punished for nothing he did. Casualty of War I guess or maybe Bud does not like him and tried to pin this on him.

Rachel and I had an agreement that there would be 2 RM's. I told her I needed Kent as one of two RM's. I told her without Kent, I would not have the support of our Barrie members to help with the match. This was the only way I was able to get support to host the match at Barrie in the first place and she knew this and agreed to have Kent as one of 2 RM's. At the last minute she changed our agreement and informed me there would only be one.

My Response to this is here with her response to me.

KENT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. IT IS ALL MY DOING

Good morning John,

I have not included Phil in this email, because this has nothing to do with Phil and I don't want Phil involved in club politics.

I have given our conversation a lot of thought. I am sorry that you made an agreement with Kent regarding the Ontario Provincials and that he would be the RM if Barrie hosted the match. As I mentioned last night, it is wrong that one person from any club should have that much pull or say and put other members in the position you have been put in. I know how you feel about Kent and his involvement with this match, however the match is not about Kent it is about all of our members.

As I said last night, it was decided going forward there would only be one RM at Level III's, I am not going to retract that for this match.

A decision was made by myself and the NROI Ontario Coordinator, which I feel is in the best interest of the IPSC Ontario Provincial Championship Match. I stand by the decision. Phil will remain as the Range Master and Kent will run the Chrony. If Kent is not happy with this decision, we will find someone else who would be glad to help.

I hope that we can now put this behind us and move forward.

Hi Phil,
Things are cleared up.
Your are the RM for the Ontario Provincials. There is no CO-RM.

Hi Rachel

I am sorry you and the Board feel that way.
As I said without Kent there is no match and cooperation at the Barrie gun club.
Without him, I am out as well. He was key to having the members help us build the match. Now we have lost the key and I have to tell him that he is no longer needed.
As I stated without Kent, we at Barrie do not have any help. Without the membership's help we have no match.
I have made my mind up and will not be Representing IPSC at the Barrie gun club without Kent as the only Range Master.
I am sorry. Please speak to Dino if he has someone to continue the work needed to have the match at Barrie or see if another club would like to take Barrie's place.

Regards,

Kent did nothing wrong, it was my doing not his. I put him in this position and still wanted to do all that was possible to fix this. I quit and he gets punished.

Clearly there are other issues here, but on this one single issue I have to object publicly.

Until IPSC Ontario do the heavy lifting and actually put on a Provincials, rather than piggybacking one on the backs of a host club, the opinion reflected above needs to be stuffed where the sun doesn't shine.

The host club do the work, period. Having thier choice of qualified match officials over riden is beyond the pale.

At last years pseudo-AGM, Craig ( in my humble opinion) aptly addressed the issue of the Provincial, stressing that it's not the job of the Board of IPSC Ontario to run the match. It follows that if the Board are not responsible for putting on the match, they should not presume to over-ride the host club.

I also support you John. I fail to understand how the provincial body can not only fire our duly elected representative but appoint someone in his place. It appears many of us misplaced our trust and our vote in the last election.
