Tactical Rimfires

I am def looking forward to some of these rimfire tacticals!

Especially the Colt and the S&W (I have been reading pretty decent reviews about both of them).

I have purchased the Remington 597 VTR (with the adjustable stock) and love it. I have had it out the the range a few times and it has been great! Not a single problem with it!

I held a mp15-22 at the Vegas gun range. I need one now. The Barrett 82a1 was nice too. I really hope they don't screw this up and make it restricted.
I also looked at a sweet mag for a mini14 it was a double drum 100rd mag. And if I was driving home I woulda tried to bring it home for the small price of 350usd

Yeah no hope on ever seeing an American made 50 cal in Canada considered militery and eport is prohibitied by US government. You can't even buy 50 cal components

you can buy a 50 cal in canada, wolverine orders them in from tiem to time special order.

ATR is the distributor the Nemisis as well which is an exemplary .50. The hardware to me isn't the issue, it's the availibility of feed, particularily brass... and she's a hungry girl!

Please Sticky This Thread

Is there any chance that we can sticky this thread? It seems to be a good reference for questions and other threads that keeping coming up about tactical rimfires.

Thanks!

Come on Mp15-22! You got this! You don't need to take a restriction from no one! Btw, do S&W realize how much money they could bring in with the non-restriction of this rifle? I got three if we get them NR.

I cannot believe the preposterous way in which the RCMP is oppressing the .22 tacticool rifle. Clearly, they are doing it for the safety of the public. They don't want to deal with uncertain situations or use extreme force against criminals with "assault rifles". From their point of view, a cheap deadly looking .22 like the GSG-5, Sig or S&W could send the public into panic an paranoia given criminal activities such as robberies. So what can the RCMP do? They procrastinate.

Now, I personally doubt the danger that tacticool rimfires pose to the public. From a criminal's point of view, it would seem that a plinker is not a weapon of choice, but, I digress.

Just by the shear number of desperate people looking for a really nice tacticool non-restricted rifle, including myself :p, a company could make huge amounts of money with a successful design.

The RCMP have imposed a monopoly environment, let me explain...

If a company succeeded in producing a gun that would be classified as a non-restricted tacticool rimfire, they would be the first to produce a gun that everyone would swarm to buy. Whilst, no such other design would be present, the company would monopolize the non-restricted tacticool market.

Granted, such rifles are already on the market...BUT I HATE THOSE BANANA MAGS :(. Also, putting effort into building up a gun, when the potential to purchase a fully ready gun seems silly.

My thoughts on this matter: If a company produced a standard rifle .22, much like the ruger 10/22, but later after its approval by the RCMP introduce a complete remodeling kit, turning the traditional looking rifles into a tacticool rifle , the RCMP would face greater challenges in restricting or perhaps prohibiting such a gun.

:nest:

Some of my thoughts...correct me if you think i'm wrong..:)
Cheers,

I work for the world's largest exporter of down and manufacturer of matterss pads. I can tell you from experience that ALL of Canada combine has less volume that what one department store could do in a year in the US, that's why you never see anyone willing to retool and remake something just for Canada.

If you can convince someone to do it, all the power to you and I would snap one up in a heart beat.

But that gun already exists and the tacticool version is non-restricted just like it's backwoodsy brother - the gun I speak of is the Ruger 10/22!!!! Why re-invent the wheel??? ;)

I do admire your tenacity on this subject, but I don't understand your obsession with trying to re-invent a gun that already exists. The Ruger 10/22 (in all of it's variations) is easily the most popular .22 ever made. The aftermarket support that you refer to already exists for the 10/22 and SR-22... There is no need that i can see to try and copy the success of this gun. I don't understand what your point is at all...

You keep describing a gun that is just like the 10/22 ans asking if we would buy it if someone made it... Well someone makes it, and has for decades and we are already buying it! In droves! :nest:

The only point that I can see you making is that you don't like the current selection of magazines available for the 10/22 platform.... Well if that is your concern, then maybe what you should be asking Santa for is a new magazine design for the existing and very popular gun that everyone already owns, rather than arguing for a whole new gun that no manufacturer in his right mind would spend money tooling up to build; just so he could try and compete against the insanely successful Ruger platform and aftermatket... ;) :)

Now that's just my 2 cents.. ;) please feel free to redirect me if I am way off base. :)

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go get my new tacticool scope mounted on my SR-22 so I can go shoot a few hundred rounds of .22 ammo through my Butler Creek 25 round magazines tonight; while you are sitting at home wishing someone would invent and manufacture the gun that I already have! :p :D:D
