Another Norc M4 Initial Review

They are trialing a pre-order with the new M-14B rifles so the CQ5.56 is still sort of behind-the-scenes. I believe Marstar has essentially confirmed they are due June 2010, no price has been given. I'm hoping for $599 but realistically probably more like $699, which is still a smoking deal. If they're less than $599 I will buy five without hesitation.

I thought these rifles were like 900 bucks,,,,,is there a possibility of a price drop with the next batch coming in????
Cheers

John has already stated the price on the ARs will be significantly less than the gouging we're accustomed to from the usual suspects. I'm just hoping he has bought in a quantity sufficient to make them as inexpensive as the rest of his offerings (and to supply the incredible demand if so!).

Norcs are quite crude but they do process rounds reliably. My M4 norcy ate few hundred rounds with no issues. Can't comment on accuracy because of limited distance at my range. The trigger and finish are nasty though, no question about that. On the other hand that's one reason why you should buy it, won't have to worry about finish and instead focus on shooting the thing. If you don't like it, you can refinish or replace individual parts as you se fit. Lower price on the new batch would make it an even better deal!

Nork guys!! I need help!!
Anybody knows which stock would fit my nork m4? milspec or commercial?
I'm thinking about buying a magpul MOE or CTR stock but don't know which would fit.

Thanx

You'll need to measure the buffer tube...I think milspec is 1.14" and commercial is 1.17" (off the top of my head...could be wrong but the AR guru's willl chime in soon).

If thats true, I will feel like an a$$hat for buying one in the 900's:mad:

Pardon my ignorance but will all aftermarket accessories made for an AR fit on this? From what I gather, the trigger's not the best but would I be able to buy a new 2 stage drop in for it? Rails, stock etc. will all fit on the Nork right?

Funny my norc m4, the rear take down pin is loose, turn it on its side (without any downwards pressure on the bottom reciever) and it will come right out...maybe the rear take down pin is too small. Other than that the rifle works great, although the ammunition for it is kinda expensive to shoot all day.

Some detents don't work, and the safety is 'unique' but everything else works fine - you may have to sand or polish the odd thing, but it all works. I'm running a Stag trigger group (minus the safety) a Magpul MOE stock, Hogue pistol grip and Midwest free float rail. All parts fit and work.

Did anybody had problems with having the small and big apperture not providing the same LATERAL adjustment? I mean, the windage has to be adjusted whenever I want to shoot with the bigger apperture(9 clicks to the right needed to get the same lateral result)

How exactly is the safety different? Not crazy about the ambi selector and that was the first thing I was going to change.

Its no biggie, after taking the old one out, youll see the flat section that allows the trigger to move is in a different spot, I had to spend 5 minuites and file the slot deeper into the safety, reassemble the trigger then file a bit more off...put it back together for a 2nd time....no biggie.

If you watch the suppliers, entire lower parts kits come on sale for $80, so you get a new trigger group, new safety, and an entire kit of spare parts...good value.
