Bought it off the EE.
It may have been one of the [tens or maybe 100 or 200 'ish?] Noveskes Questar imported years back... or it could be one of the many Socom has mysteriously brought in over the years... but it's an upper and has no serials, so unless you bought it originally who knows...

Send it back if for nothing else to find out what happened and get some closure.
The worst case scenario for you is you lose it at the border and it is destroyed (am I right?) or could the OP be punished more severely?
I lost a few orders of mag bodies a while back; I got a letter stating they were slated for destruction.

If it was, Questar would be able to provide the necessary paperwork(not sure about Socom).
Most likely it was the same way the huge majority or LaRue and Pmag stuff ends up in Canada, the trunk of someones car that they 'forget' to declare.
As was shown in a court decision recently, you may have gotten off lucky. Instead of a letter, it could have been a controlled delivery that ended with you being arrested for being in possession of a prohibited device(if it was a standard capacity, not pinned to 10 rounds).

A f**kload more.... or maybe nothing. It depends on who catches it, if they do at all. You are absolutely screwed if the Americans catch you. Why chance it when Canadian IICs are free and you can get an export permit for a part for around $150US?

Get a gun smith to drill out the bore back just past the damaged area the barrel will look the same and still shoot fine . Counter sink it worked for many a old bolt gun with a worn muzzel from cleaning rods . don't forget to drill out the flashhider to the larger size as well

stick it in the mail, let them worry about getting it back to you. Are they replacing it for sure? If so ask if you can cut the bulge portion off and just send that to them for inspection. Then your just send a metal tube
That likely would not work in this case. The ring is too far in. If the barrel were bored out past the bulge, the gas pressure curve would be affected to the point that the firearm would not cycle.
Basically two options:
-shoot as is.
-rebarrel.
If an OEM barrel can be obtained, fine.
If not, there are other barrels available.
Its April next week, the shooting season is here.
My mistake guess i should have included the chamber if the measurement is from the bolt face to the end of the rifled portion of the barrel. If iam correct wouldnt my original question be relevant, not trying to start an arguement iam not Canadian just trying to get some of the finer points of your gun laws straight in my head.
