Lots of firsts here for me, my first black gun, first purchase off EE.
Gun arrived Friday, had to go with taller rings than I wanted (18mm saddle height, should switch to 14-15mm). Scope is a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.4-10x40 with firefly reticle. After the scope was mounted, I sighted at 25 indoors, then got a chance to shoot a few outdoors at around 100yrds. My thoughts are:
1) Trigger - WAY too heavy, but since I have an enhanced trigger on the way, I did the set screw adjustment, but left the arm shy of the safety hole so I would not have to grind anything. I got a little better. Should have enhanced this week. Accuracy was OK, 1.5" at 100yrds, new trigger should get it better. I did manage to put three shots through the same hole at 25 yards.
2) Weight - I like the looks and the accuracy of the heavy barrel, but the light would probably be sufficient. The gun as pictured weighs 9.75 lbs. I will be getting a 6.8 barrel for deer hunting and will be walking with the gun alot, so I am leaning towards light barrel for that. I still have to add front sling mount and bipod (only for target or calling yotes). Also, pretty front heavy
3) Stock - this is the 13" LOP tubular stock. It is too short for me and I am not large. I am going to make a .5" to 1" aluminum spacer to go between the rubber pad and the stock.
Misc - the ergos are great for the controls, the trigger guard plate rattles, I have a winter version coming in with the trigger, I will try to get it to not rattle when I put it on. It has a little more play in the hinge than I would like, may try to shim it later, but very easy to service/clean.
Will try calling for coyotes with it tomorrow. Thanks savage10 for the sale, I will leave you feedback!
