The worse rifle you ever owned

I just shot yesterday MOA with my Mini Target in sh,,, weather - again. And that is with factory 55 grain. Show me another semi which does that - unmodified.

The 580 series seems to be a bit worse but should still do 1.5 inch groups from what I have read. 4" to 5" inch groups - which series from which year would that be?

180 - isn't that 35 years?
Glad you like your Mini Taget.....
My own Springfield Armory made, M1 Garand rifle in 30-06, will routinely shoot just sub-MOA, if this shooter has had a good night sleep prior to a match ;) So will my "Tanker" Garand copy in 308. I would say my Polytech M-14S, I suspect, may be able to outshoot my Garands too.
How much did you pay for it BTW?

Winchester Model 70 Featherweight WSSM 243 (last gun out of the New Haven plant). Shot 4 inch groups no matter what I tried and I tried it all! No more WSSM for me!

Nearly buried mine in the range backstop. Tried 5 different powders, 15 different bullets, then finally found the load. Have shot lots of 3 shot >5mor groups.

About half the problems I've read on this thread generally are related directly to maintenance/poor maintenance/lack of maintenance. But the GUNS are Ps of Sh*t.

Lesson here?

I had a POS Lee-Enfield, a 1918 Lithgow that shot 14-inch groups at 100.... and that was with match-grade ammo.

Six bucks' worth of Acra-Glas and some elbow grease later and the same rifle, on the same range, with the same ammo from the same box, was turning in half-inch called 2-round 'sniper/hunter' groups..... every time it was shot.
I think I'll hang onto my POS Aussie Lee-Enfield, thankyouverymuch.

I don't think I've ever seen a Lee-Enfield with a half-assed barrel that I can't make into a shooter.
And you can, too.

Have fun; that's what we're here for.

I had a ruger MKII that had more done to it than your L/E and it still did not shoot worth a s**t, so it does not matter with some guns.

Only 63 posts till we hit the Remington 710 - I dont own one, but one of the guys that works for me pulled the bolt right through the bolt stop twice this fall - once on a moose (second shot) and same on a deer.

Luckily - I have had very good rifles - the only true POS I have ever owned was my first shotgun - bought it 33 years ago - a Mossberg 400. Lasted two weeks - bought brand new from Canadian Tire. One duck hunt and it had more red dots than I did as a kid with measles. Took it out (after wiping it down liberally with oil, loaded two in the mag and pumped one into the chamber - and the barrel fell off!

Weld on the front of the barrel holding the magazine ring broke.

Took my dad with me (I was 16) to take it back to CTC for a return (and my money back) - surprisingly was not an issue.

I still cant warm up to a Mossy shotgun......

Stevens model 200, Got one of these in 270 win had a host of dangerous problems. Sent it back for repair as they would not refund the money for it. Sold it as soon as i got it back wasn't interested in trying it again.

Norinco SKS - D

Really roughly manufactured.

You get what you pay for.

I sold it after one trip to the range.

My worst rifles: Original PPS50, 2 Remington 742 semiautos, 2 Mini14's, A Sako 7mm, Weatherby Accumark 300, CZ 9mm. My AR7 works perfectly (go figure). Never had a problem with any Tikka.

Sako 75 finnlight 270 wsm. $(1700) Wouldn't feed, wouldn't shoot better than 1.75 inches. A real lemon. Replaced it with a 619$ remington sps that feeds flawlessly and shoots .75" consistently. It's now a full blown custom worth much more than the Sako but unmodified it was three times the rifle as the finnlight at 1/3 the price.

I had a remington Viper in .22 that never shot well, always jammed, and was just plain flimsy. Sort of warned me off of buying the cheap rifle instead of the good rifle.

A Savage 110c in .30/06 with a blind mag and plain hardwood stock. I got it from C.T. in the mid 1980's. It wouldn't feed and would dispense 3 cartridges at a time when the bolt was pulled back.

A close second was the Lakefield 64B .22 semi-auto that I bought at the same time. Had a 4-8 out of 10 jam rate.

I guess if I dumped a few hundred into the sporter Longbranch I mentioned it might have turned out to be a shooter, but instead I bought a Pattern 14 sporter...which out shoots any other Enfiled type I have used. :D
