Savage M99 in 300 Savage. Very accurate rifle, very nice to look at. Had a little custom work to the wood. I foolishly sold it a few years back to finance something else, but I just bought it back and I won't make the same mistake again.

I have several rifles that I adore. My 2 remington 700's are both great. The SPS 30-06 cost me $460 brand new and shoots sub moa out of the box. The only thing I did to it was put on a Nikkon scope. It's not too heavy at 7.8 lbs. It's not the prettiest, but when you're talking value, how can you argue? I have a Brazilian Mauser, sporterized and rechambered to .308 Norma that I love, a Browning X-bolt that shoots teeny tiny groups, a Husqvarna Lightweight that shoots good and is a dream to carry. My Tikka seems to be my go-to rifle for whitetail, and has accounted for more than a few. I have been lucky to find so many favorites. Always on the lookout for the next favorite to add to the collection.

Sako 75 so far, but I'm not done yet!:D

My Browning BLR-81 (steel receiver) in .308 with a Leupold VXII 1-4X20 and Burris Zee rings. Does clover leafs at 100 yards and under 2" at 200 yards. Awesome hunting rig!!!

Gonna have to say this old "Ranger" .22LR repeater my brother-in-law gave me. It's a Cooey, made for some store or another. Gotta be 40 years old, wood is rough, bluing far from perfect, and it's a bit too small for me to really be comfortable shooting it off a bench. But that little sweetheart just ate 100 rounds of cheap American Eagle ammo this weekend and put all of them into an inch at 25 yards with open sights. The target looks hilarious, just one big hole made up of 100 smaller holes. Minute-of-cottontail, and it's going to be perfect as an introduction to firearms for my son when he's old enough.

Very hard to commit to just one in this thread....

But I think it was a Husqvarna "Husky" H-5000 in .308 Win that I had ~ 10 years ago. Cost me ~ $350'ish back then. I had it set up with a Tasco World Class Plus 3-9x44mm econo scope. Man could it shoot, though. Sadly I parted with it in a moment of financial weakness....

I recently acquired another one off a fellow CGN'er so I am hoping to recoup my loss. I will put a nicer piece of glass on it this time around though...

NAA.

Tikka T3 stainless lite in 308. Reasonably priced, light, accurate, great trigger, needs no tinkering or upgrades. Just scope and hunt.

X2 -- exactly my 'best rifle ever'. Punches groups a lot of benchrest guys would be happy with, weighs a whisker over 7lbs loaded and scoped, and it cost me 0$ in 'upgrades' to get it like that.

I have three:
My first ever rifle, a Remington 700 BDL SS in .270 Winchester. I shot the barrel out on it, but it taught me how to shoot and reload. It was a true sub-moa performer. I built my first custom on it, and it sadly sits in my fathers safe, truly deformed and dissappointing. Through that it also taught me not to trust things valuable to just anyone. And that a real gunsmith is an artisan, and will fix their mistakes, unlike the joke that wrecked that one.

My second is a Winchester 70 built by an artisan, that shoots unbelievably, and sadly (and gladly;)) should be returning to the fellow I bought it from. Its the .284 Winchester in my avatar, and Bill Leeper will likely never build one like it again.

The third is a Sako Finnlight in .270 Win. That shot remarkably, handled stupendously, and I could not afford to keep. To whomever bought it from the old man I Stavely: Triple Shocks and H4831sc will give you 1/2 d shot groups, and she doesn't like to be clean;)
