6mm br Pet loads/Pics Welcome

Could the "Mickham" be short for McPhee/Hames? Is the parent case the 7x61 Sharpe & Hart necked down to 6mm????

My favorite load for the the 6BR is;
105 Bergers jumped .010"
32.5 grs N540 @ 2972 fps
CCI #450 Primers

I would say it definitely it has to be a wildcat from brass Lapua makes... lol,, maybe some derivative of a 22-250 case, actually I have no clue.

Actually, it (The 6mmBR Norma) was "designed" for European 300M ISSF competition as a *slightly* longer version the 6mmBR Remington.

Big heavy bullets are not needed for short range, and I agree with you that they make EXCELLENT varmint cartridges (3500 fps with light bullets).

I use mine for 300-1000M F-Class competition and I need all the BC I can get. (actually... I am getting sucked in by the need to build a bigger, better mouse trap and have collaborated with Mick McPhee on the design of the "240 Mickham" for 115 bullets... reamer ordered this week)

actually ian, the 6mmbr remington(1.56) is the longer version of the 6mmbr(1.52)!

Bzzzzz! wrong. look again. You have it backwards... I know, I have trimmed enough 6BR cases to have the dimesions etched in my brain...

What is the Correct OAL for the Case? New Lapua brass measures 1.556-1.557". SAAMI spec for the 6mm BR Norma case is 1.560". By contrast the OAL spec for 6mm BR Remington is 1.520". The Lapua brass is headstamped 6mm BR Norma-Lapua. We trim all our cases to 1.555" when any one reaches 1.560" or longer

Interesting that you jump the 105's Aubrey. These are the BT or the VLD's?

The Berger 105 VLD's worked best jumped .010 out of my gun also.

I had to work hard to get the 105 VLD to shoot well out of my guns - jamming hard was the only way for me. I still have great trouble matching the 105VLD accuracy to that of the 108BT, which is now my primary bullet.

Working up a great load is half the fun in this hobby.
