Shell stuck in 858 help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!pics!

broke the one that came with my ####ty $30 cleaning kit already lol...Gonna pick up another one from WS tomorrow while the bore is soaking gun gun oil... Makes me want to only shoot hunting ammo, but the 18c a round lures me back. Man I hate my cheapness lol

Lean the rifle muzzle up on something, drop a liberal dose of penetrating oil or CLP down the bore, leave it there for a few days. Then do the dowel/hammer thing, if the case doesn't just fall out on it's own before that.

Thats one stubburn case you got there, use 9/32 round aluminum, thats about as big as you get down there. I have also drilled out the primer and used a slide hammer on one in and sks, and if you shoot lots of surplus you have to clean the lacqure out of the chamber with a good brushing and acetone, and trust me is does build un in the chamber

Slide hammer? Im new to this what the heck is that?

Why not trying a .30 cal boresnake, inserted from the muzzle end. Let the brass smaller end go tru the primer pocket hole, then pull hard.

I don't think that's a good idea, the bore snake could rip and be left in the bore. Then he is really screwed.

I have had a couple of these already, my gunsmith used a wooden dowel to knock the shell out one of them.

I would let some penetrating lube soak in for a day. Then give er with a dowel or rod.

Soakin as we speak..After two blood blisters from pliers and a busted cleaning rod...:kickInTheNuts:

Oh BTW - once you get it out, head down to The Shooting Edge and see if you can use there green cleaning station to soak your CZ out. Bring a drill, attach a copper bore brush to a cleaning rod, and after soaking it in the cleaning solution, drill your bore like a mofo.

I'm sorry if this comes off mean.

The devastation you have wrecked upon your receiver tells me 80% of the tale. The rest is in your posts.

Take your firearm to a qualified gunsmith.

Because i have a couple nicks on top of a receiver of a military firearm I should take it to a gunsmith? Is that like I have a rock chip on my bumper so I should go pay a dealer to repaint my car? I think I will wait and see what soaking it in oil does...

Go back in read your posts and look again at the carnage in there.

Depending on the brake clean you used(if you did) it may have melted the varnish and allowed it to become like an adhesive between the casing and the chamber.

If you broke the cleaning rod trying to extract the case you either were not hitting it square or using far more force than should be needed to extract a stuck case... Though in all fairness after 600 rounds of surplus through my CZ I have not encountered this.

It is my opinion that the effort you have spent trying to extract the casing is not in vain, but perhaps you have reached the point where the assistance of a gunsmith could prevent major damage from occurring.

I hope you are successful and that your oil bath will allow easy extraction.

I havent used brake cleaner on it... And if the "bath" doen't work Ill be taking it in. I just wanted some advice on what I can do before that becomes the only option....

If you resort to using a wood dowel to hammer from muzzle end, you are better off with a few shorter lengths (like 6 inches or so) stacked one after the other. You will get less, if any flex and splintering over using one long dowel.

To get it out you need a stout metal rod and a hammer. Wood might work but you run the risk of it breaking and then you will be going to a gunsmith whether you like it or not.

In terms of chamber hygiene I would recommend using a solvent containing acetone everytime you clean the gun to scrub out the chamber. Disolves the lacquer real nice.

Good luck getting it out.

I could not disagree more!! That is a fine method for slugging a barrel say but for this job it would be terrible. I have tried what you say in the same situation as the OP and it was a nightmare!!!! The sections of wood dowel splintered and wedged into each other, it was pure hell.
Some might say that the chances are slim of this happening but it doesn't have to happen at all.
