In realistic, practical terms its too much of a good thing. I wouldn't worry about a double discharge, you won't survive the first one. Nice walnut recoil pad by the way. For the well healed Gunnut though it would provide hours of interesting diatribe.

The thing about that gun is that if you walk up to a big mean Grizzly and give him a shot and only wound him, you got nothing to worry about because he probably won't be able to find you after you fire that thing.

Yikes  That thing will give you a chiropractic adjustment alright.

I'd cut the stock and glue on a limbsaver or pachmayr - bubba style  R:d:

Nice gun for sure - not something I could afford or even shoot I'm sure.

1300 grain bullet leaving the muzzle at around 1900 fps.....I wonder how fast the shooter leaves the butt pad.

Mr Lucchini looks like he weights around 140 pounds soak and wet...I wonder if he has assistant do the test firing.

I doubt cost of ammo is a consideration if you have the money for that double rifle....A pound of RL-22 will allow you to load up 17 Rounds !! (that leaves you 16 rounds that you will never fire:))

Ive never hunted in africa but I wonder how practical this rifle can really be ?

It is a piece of art in workmanship, and would make for a very interesting discussion piece.

They make such heavy rounds for charging rino, buffalo, and elephant. If you hit him, he is dead, and of you miss him, it lays you down flat so the beast just cruises right over top of you and gets your african guide.....

Brilliant

Zero practicality. Too heavy to carry all day after elephant, too heavy to allow for quick handling, I don't thing that the bullet will penetrate very well despite the .330 SD. Even the 700 NE is considered a poor elephant rifle due to poor penetration. Once you're over .510" you're deep into the country of fast diminishing returns.

Look at the wrist of the stock? Too damned thick to get a hold of. Same with the porky forend. Know why buddy isn't smiling at his great feat of riflemaking? Because he knows that the whole enterprise was a wank.

176 ft lbs of recoil at 21 fps? More than 2.5 times the ft lbs of my 10 lb 470NE with 500 grain bullets (67 ft lbs at 21fps)

Bottom line - Uncarryable, unshootable, unaffordable.

That made me laugh.
