Here is a copy of the letter sent today to IPSC Ontario

To the members of the board of IPSC Ontario.
Please accept my resignation from the Board of IPSC Ontario.
I can no linger be part of this governing body.
My reasons are simple: lack of support and irreconcilable differences,
Additionally-I have addressed this to the election chairman as I believe Wolf is next in line for my position followed by Carmine.
The list of Club Reps that I had have also been c/c'd
I remain dedicated to the sport of practical shooting as embodied in IPSC and NROI Canada and IROA and will remain at their disposal.
Respectfully
David

Addendum:
1. I have transferred my scheduled black badge courses to another instructor.
They also have a copy of the completed suggested revisions to the Ontario Training Program (BBadge course)
2.The proposed RO course in May in Southern Ontario will have to be taken over by another instructor as I am taking a sabbatical
3. I will also be reigning as IPSC Rep for Wentworth Shooting Sports Club
4. As the President of IPSC Ontario is the Match Director for the Ontario Provincials I would feel less than welcomed there
5. As the President of IPSC Ontario is also the president of WSSC I doubt that I will be very welcome there so the future of the 9 th Annual Triangle Match Level 3 Match is very questionable.
6. I feel that there is no reason to continue as Assistant NROI Ontario Coordinator as this position is completely at the discretion of the Ontario Section Coordinator and as 3/5 of the IPSC Ontario Board has not supported Mr Melless' recommendation that I replace him.

And here is my letter to Wentworth

Today I resigned from the Board of IPSC Ontario
As the President of IPSC Ontario is also the president of WSSC I have no desire to encumber you with internal conflict
As such I tender my resignation from the Board of WSSC and the position of Match Chairman.
In addition I will no longer be the IPSC Club rep for WSSC..
Presently the future of the next triangle match is highly questionable as I expect to not feel very welcome
Respectfully
David

And thank you for all the fish

f**k me, go have your squabble in private - nobody wants to hear about your pissing match in public. Nobody will find any swords to fall on here, I'm afraid.

good man

Dave, sorry to hear about this. I Know what an asset you are and know what a good person and shooter you are.
Take care

Dave, you have to do what you have to do.

Sorry to hear, even more sorry at the situation that has led to this.

Seams some people are willing to let the sport die over there personal power struggle.

Well heck Dave, it appears I should have stuck around and bent your ear a little more Sunday.

I will see you again soon I trust!

X2

The sport will not die because of this.;)

They will lose the most active BB instructor in Canada, perhaps the most active RO instructor as well. Not to mention an accredited Range Master from several Nationals, and one hell of a level-headed member of the Board.:(

Things will go on...............

You are correct. BUT, after all Dr. Dave has given to IPSC over many years and given recent events, it should be others that resign.

And here I was thinking about getting into IPSC.... :) I guess all the disciplines have their problems. Why can't we all just... get along. IPSC sounds to be getting as bad as Defensive Pistol with all the infighting and squealing. But... given that I don't know any of the people in question, I would think that someone with as much experience and dedication as this Dave guy seems to have, well his leaving should not be taken so lightly. As much as people like to think it, things will not just go on.

Very sad news Dave, sorry to hear it has come to this.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the matches you and the team at Wentworth have put on in the past. I hope things will work out soon.

Not sure whats happening this is a surprise to me and I said it before maybe its time for the IPSC BOD to let us the simple people know whats up:confused::confused:

Wasn't David Huta just voted onto the IPSC Ontario BoD this past December?

How you can get a obviously experienced and capable IPSC guy like Huta to quit in under 6 months... I want to know, but I don't at the same time...

That sucks...

1. this posting was the only way I knew that I would not be mis quoted while getting the info to any one who wanted it about my resignation(As oposed to being suppressed)
2.just to clarify- Bud has steadfastly supported and encouraged my pursuits in IPSC and should in no way be associated with my resignation
