Old Glocks, do they exist?

You should not be so fast to mock. TDC has more value in his posts than you do, Bob.

Little doubt.

TDC's practical experience reading SWAT magazines over the past three years gives us access to an untold wealth of information, hence my suggestion to Tim Cox to etch into stone these nuggets before they are lost to the internet cloud. Tim you have a heavy cross to bear for us but I know you are capable. Tens of ones are depending upon you.

To the OP I have seen excellent used GEN 2 and 3 Glocks go for around $600 which is pretty inexpensive for a dependable and capable pistol.

Take Care

Bob

I sold my Gen 1 and 2 models for about $600 each, had buyers before I even knew I was going to sell them.

Let's please keep our ego's at home and keep this thread civil, everyone hear has an opinion, if it doesn't chive with yours, do what I do.....take what you can from it. There are a lot of intellegent people on this forum, lots of good advice. Take what you can and try not to get offended when someone has a different view. We are all individuals with our own thoughts and opinions.

The only Glocks I ever seem to find for sale are all mint, low round count etc. Where are all the older Glocks, pre finger grooves and light rails? There must be some out there that have seen lots of holster use with high round counts. Is it that these guns just never die or are they just so loved that they are never sold?

Any thoughts?

Are you talking about the ones with the checkered grip or the earliest ones with the smooth grip?

The latter are pretty rare, the other ones though were made in the hundreds of thousands.

Anyone with real world training in tactics knows that attaching a light to the gun and turning it on means the bad guy will hit you dead center when he shoots at the light. Proper protocol is to hold the light with your arm stretched while searching and then marry up the hands for better support to aim. I don't know how we ever survived without Picatinny rails (we called them Weaver in my day:rolleyes:) covering every square inch of or guns!:p

You just outed TDC as an overweight mall ninja! :D How dare you! He has trained with the finest and battled with the toughest! :p

You've done it now! Prepare to face the internet wrath of the mighty TDC:eek: After he is done telling you how he has mastered the Lethal Weapon-Mel Gibson rolling across the floor shooting rightside up then upside down, reloading then continuing to shoot to the rightside up position scoring all A zone hits. You will pee down your leg just a little from his sheer dominance.

I though everyone here knew that TDC's tears cure cancer. Too bad though he will never cry.

Maybe someone can fill me in...

When, again, is it okay to bully a member of this forum?

I have an infraction on my record for saying something (in another thread) that is only a fraction of what has been said here (in this thread).

(Where are you, NAA?)

There are some members that should be exempt. When you become a blowhard by arguing endlessly you deserve a good ribbing now and then. A certain member that lost his Mod status... Another member with an interesting way of quoting... another that thinks a few courses and a pile of back issues of SWAT magazine qualify as experience... I am not looking for an infraction here. I want to play nice but some people ask for it.

Actually you only got a warning not an infraction.

Did you want me to correct that one so you can continue on with your war of indignation?

I would be most pleased to reverse the warning and change it to an infraction.

You should reverse it, that way it would be a more of a learning experience for him. It could help him to grow as a person. :D

Dont think of it as unjust punishment and being petty, think of it as a community service :p

It seems the OP left this thread many moons ago, but in any event....I suspect owners of the original Gen 1 or possibly even the Gen 2 glocks still own them.

I'm a little newer to the game with my Gen 3....but as it stands, there is a pretty high chance I will never sell this gun.

I don't really consider the resale value of a glock with 10s of thousands of rounds to be that high, because of that, I bet most owners would just assume hang onto it.

Wow, lots of personal attacks towards myself for nothing more than posting what I know, or rather posting what "I think I know" according to some. Again, for being outed as such a "blowhard" and "wannabe" no one has the knowledge to dispute or even debate what I post. The best responses I get are childish ad-hominem attacks.

JasonS,

I see several have clearly indicated that you know little of what you speak, yet you continue to act as if you do. Carry on carrying money, you're doing a fine job.

Bob,
Well what can I say, you seem to enjoy attacking my character while posting next to nothing constructive to the thread. From your own postings you're getting on in years so I won't steal what little entertainment you have left. Carry on.

Onagoth,

I fully agree. A Glock with many rounds through it isn't worth much and is probably best kept. I suspect that is the reason we don't see more gen 1 or 2 Glocks for sale.

It's only because you type the truth. Your facts are easy to check out all we have to do is buy the latest SWAT magazine and it is all there for all to see. Have you ever considered setting up pistol instruction for the Armed Forces or the Calagary Police Department? Jusk asking.

Oh by the way I am considering buying a Tanfoglio Combat Sport in .45acp. I know the name is a contradiction in terms but how do you feel about the gun. It has a manual safety and is a DA/SA gun both older concepts. The gun is all steel so I am not sure if such a concept still works in a handgun.
