Remington 870 tactical express

You'd guess wrong. Show up with a breaching toy and we'd laugh right in your face. Keyboard Kommandos don't impress us.

So much for splitting the forums and getting rid of the tactical tough guy posing.
One of the guys had one last Sunday as a matter of fact, and yes there were some good humoured comments about doing "tactical entries on the low house!!:D

Don't you remember the old Winchester Model 12's or Mossberg bolt action shotguns with vent rib and poly chokes or worse the Cutts compensators? I think they used to be considdered "cool". The latest techno birdkillers of the day !!
I not sure either were considered "cool" but they at least had a practical application that made some sense. The Cutts was meant to reduce muzzle jump just as barrel porting does now and the Polychoke and Cutts allowed shooters to change chokes and were the predecessors to modern choke tubes.

Back in the day, these new fangled contraptions were not considdered practical or nessecary by the fudds of the day. They were the "door breachers" of that era. Did you notice the Remington breacher IS ported and therefore would be every bit as practical as the vent ribbed barrel on my old Mossberg. Patterns were crap with the c-lect choke as well so not very practical either. Just fun new stuff to show your buddies. I couldn't wait to get the new Fall/winter Sears, Eatons, and Can. Tire catalogues to drool over the new guns with the latest gizmoes 'cause they were so cool. So there you go. ;)

The C-lect choke didn't pattern well the Cutts however works much better. The choke "tubes" for it do provide reasonable patterns. Whether the Cutts reduced recoil and muzzle jump due to its slots or simple the addition of a little extra weight on the end of the barrel is a debatable point.

Remingtons breacher has holes in it to dispel the blast when a door is breached. It isn't cut as "porting" in the same way a ported extended choke tube which is another largely useless item meant to part gun owners from their hard earned money.

Thanks for the history lesson. I am missing your whole point though. Function over form?? The point is the breacher attachment does have a legitimate function. The gun also functions the exact same with or without it on, so who really cares if a guy shows up at the range with a breacher and busts a few clays ? Are you that anal? Here's what we did last year on trap day. After a few rounds of the usual stuff, we pulled out our defenders to give it a whirl. I have to say, it was the most fun we had in a while and every one had a good laugh. I fully intend on taking my Fab Arms WITH breaching attachment and knox stock and have a total blast. We were able to get between 15-19/25 with the defenders at the closest distance. Loosen up and have some fun.

This is the Hunting and Sporting Shotgun Forum. Not the Black and Blue shotty Forum so the "breacher" Choke or door removal utensil has no place here.

Unless you have forgotten your key to the Trap house :)

What the hell was I thinking ????? It is perfectly obvious we need two more sections. One for those who use tactical shotguns for trap shooting and another for those who use their Perrazi for home defence. There, problem solved. I think I should be moving on now. It's been fun. Thanks for allowing me in. Briefly.

Actually they are STILL considered by many to be a viable thing. just a little archaic.
Charles Askins JR for one had high praise for the Poly choke....

it has nothing to do with tough guy posing.

it has everything to do with treating strangers with respect and not worrying about what the guy next to you is doing.

i think that woodland camo and blaze orange (or dressing like davey crockett) looks a bit silly on a closed range. i mind my own business though and let others have their fun.

there is a big difference between a few good natured comments and laughing in a persons face.

i can take a joke.

what claybuster is talking about is entirely different.

"high school is over"

It's a shame you missed out.

the fact that you have to hide behind a messageboard in order to attempt to insult someone speaks volumes of your (lack of) character.

you should try posting as if you were an adult and the person is standing on front of you.

That's a "two way Street".

That is excellent advice. Here's an example of a wannabe tough guy boasts about his self professed fighting ability. According to him he's MMA, UFC, ADDC, a former doorman and makes an offer to prove it with another member. He's one tough hombre on the Internet. :jerkit:

Yes we need two forums would be helpful to curb the trolling.

Ok so I'm gonna try to gp back to topic and not be a trolls or drama whore.

What about other breacher chokes anyone try any? Any one know any good advice on them? Whats the real difference between the ones cut all the way around like these ones (Remington) or ones cut only on the top?

Apparently some are used just to reduce recoil and some are mainly used to reduce flash? I don't know what I am talking about for sure I am just asking.

RE: These ones are cool and though about getting them from Kings Amory (website is down) http://www.kingarmory.com/
