Does anyone know of any excellent training schools in Ontario to help a newbie develop proper shooting skills for IDPA?
I just finished Tactical Response "Fighting Pistol" and frankly ALL of what they teach could be applied directly to IDPA. great course and great instructors.
what are the schools? I am just looking to take some courses so that I don't start to practice and reinforce bad habits.
I'm running a course at EESA on the last weekend in May. It is designed around pistol shooting skills that would be essential to IDPA as well as IPSC.
Just buy and watch Matt Burkett's Winning IDPA Techniques vol 5.
It will help you practice properly.
Did you travel to the US for this?
...video of your shooting at matches and your draw and reloads is good to study. You can critique yourself and find ways to improve.
Critiquing yourself isn't necessarily the best idea. If you're going to video yourself, it's better to get someone else who can diagnose and recognize small(and not so small) errors in your technique that you may not notice or recognize.
