I would be very cautious over what you have just made public without his/her consent. Just saying.

Curios-

The charger is a pistol. So yes, it is limited to 10 rounds.

Since it is illegal to put a rimfire rifle mag of over 10 rds into a rimfire pistol -
What would be the criminal charge ? -
What section of the Criminal Code Of Canada ?

Ya, your right. We'll keep everything big ####ing secret. There is nothing in that letter that says anything more then what you find on there ####ing website. This was there response to a 2 hour phone call yesterday. They said the same thing on the phone.

Alright guys...since when in the history of mag. capacities in Canada is the firearm the dictating factor????

I don't care if it's an AR-15 or the MP-15/22.....if a Canadian legal mag fits, it can be what it is. Hence the 10 rnd AR mags, 10 round Storm/92FS mags, .40 mags in 9mm guns, and I can only logically follow a 10/22 mag in the Charger......it is the mag that is prohibited or restricted, NOT THE FIREARM IT IS USED IN!!!

Now seeing as the MP 15/22 mag is designed specifically only for this rifle itself....I'm not sure how that example lands......it's an odd ball we have not seen yet me thinks.

I agree - The donkey wollopers set the precedent with the 10 rd AR mags, and the ruling that the magazine is the prohibited device - not the use of -

I cant find a criminal charge for using a legal rimfire 30 rd rifle mag in a rimfire pistol -:)
Anyone ?

Very good point, gentlemen... If, for example, one were to use a Butler Creek 25 round magazine (which is designed for use in a 10/22 RIFLE) in a Charger, it would make sense that the use of the non-prohibited magazine in the pistol would be as legal as using the LAR mags in an AR rifle. The logic seems the same in both cases, does it not? And the RCMP, in response to Questat's request about the LAR mags, has gone on record as saying that it is all about what gun the magazine was designed for, not what gun it is being used in.

Like I mentioned before.....the rub is that the MP15/22 has mags designed for it and it alone.....I do not think there is another firearm yet with this setup...factory restricted rimfire rifle thats restricted using propietary mags.

Scoop? Still unlimited based on the usual rimfire classification of magazines?

I would think so -

A dedicated .22 AR upper is a little more expensive but it can take a black dog 50 rd drum! :D :dancingbanana:
Thats if you own an AR already.
