Let my friend shoot the 300 Win Mag - Funny

Maybe you should have showed him how to hold and shoot the gun before hand. Thats the easiest way to turn someone off of shooting sports. Shooting a big gun is like a kid first riding a bike, if no one is there to show you how to, its not pleasurable. Would like to see you shoulder a double gun in a nitro express cal., I'm sure we would all get the same laugh at you.

That's the sad part... I did.

I left the 30 minute video of me showing him exactly how to hold it, how to be safe and how to look down the scope and he watched me fire the gun for about 20 minutes as well beforehand. It didn't help.

Also, this 300 win mag is my first gun. So that proves nothing.
 
Somehow I don't find this funny, as it is probably going to take him a long time to get over this negative conditioning.
That is if he ever picks up a rifle again.

IMHO you owe him an SKS and a case of ammo so he can work on getting over his flinch. :D

He did take 2 more shots after that, that were much better, he was just scared on his very first shot, I found it funny, nothing wrong with that. :D

Once I get a .22 or less he'll be allowed to use that. :D

I think he should not have started on that caliber. Shooting off a bench is not a great way to get used to recoil either. I think its good your taking people shooting but the video is a lesson for us all to make sure we make it fun for the newbies.

But yes it was the strangest flinch/bail.
