Quoted from the "How much to build the beast?" thread.
Just built my LR F-Class rig.

XR-100 Action and Stock - $700
PTG Bolt/Firing Pin assembly - $300
Jewell Trigger - $200
Krieger Barrel - $490
Farrel Base - $100
Smith Work - $510 (Includes truing the action as well as stock work and barrel chamber/install)
______________________________
Total - $2300 (Taxes Inc)

Money well spent me thinks.....:cool::cool::cool:

Only took 12 rounds to the range to do my break in, all culled brass (some were above/below standard weight and some were neck turned too much).

Boresighted it at 300m on the steel Pig, let the first shot go......PONG......rung the pig...LOL

9th, 10th, 11th and 12th round out of the rifle. Only had 4 rounds left to print a group with so I went for it.

Barrel is finished at 30"
Berger 180 VLD's Jammed
Lapua 6.5-284 Brass necked up and neck turned
51gr Reloader 17
No load dev...just went with what I knew would be safe for fire forming and break in.
Chrony to come tomorrow on this particular load then I can work from there.

Shot at 100m

.607-.284 = .323

Brian,
I molested your stock today.....I think I got a little bit on it too:adult: ....sorry. Mick said it would wipe right off with a little water on a rag. :D

Pics coming soon :)

Blasphemy!!:eek: If you wanted gun pr0n, you should've waited until you got home! :p

The damage you caused to my stock and the psychological damage to me, I will pay it back with a victory over you in Vokes this summer!:nest::kickInTheNuts:

A few quick ones then I have to get to bed.....have to be at work at 5am :eek:

I don't mean to go off topic  but, how do you fireform your shehane brass? If the shoulder is the same as the .284win you should be able to fire factory .284 brass in the chamer just like an ackley? Sounds like an interesting cartridge, I love the .284 cartridge. I have had 3 of them at one time :p and my 6-284 is a fun one to shoot.

The Shehane has basically no body taper; the fire forming blows the case walls straight. The advantage is the extra case capacity and when extracting every FPS possible, the capicity is needed before load developing.

.....VERY interested in knowing velocities you're getting. Krieger would also like feedback regarding the new 5R, so your input would be welcome.

Nice rig Richard! Where did you get the other NF?

...bringin it to choir practice tonight?

There is my dilema, 4 guns and only 3 12-42 NF Scopes.......do I sell a gun or get a 4th scope?

The scope sitting on my good 6BR is only there for the picture....its my 5.5-22 Varminter.

Your coming tonite? Yes it will be there.

I also forgot to mention that it isn't even bedded yet and is already showing promise. :D

Shehane

Hey Richard, nice rig man.You will not be disappointed with the Shehane.
After fireforming try loading between 56.5 & 57g H4831sc,mine likes 56.6.
Got 2200 rounds down the pipe now and still shoots Awesome.
Thanks to Ian I have an extra pipe waiting to go on soon,LoL !!!
Let us know how the R17 works, keep us posted.

Scott, Are you serious with the round count?? That's is great!

Every time I shoot my 6.5-284, it spits great ugly clouds of grey smoke, that is composed of 90% barrel throat. About 3-5 thou per hundred rounds!
