So now that the SOCOM has dropped the SCAR is anyone gonna want it?

FN is not playing their cards right with the US mil right now, heaven knows why...

Interesting how the ACR pricetag grew like it did... I smell big money for Remington Military.

(McLean, VA) —FNH USA, LLC received notification from the USSOCOM Program Executive Office—SOF Warrior (PEO—SW) that the SCAR Acquisition Decision Memorandum (ADM) was approved and signed on April 14, 2010, moving this FN Herstal (FN) program into the Milestone C phase. This decision authorizes the production and deployment of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR) MK 16 and MK 17, as well as the Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module (EGLM) MK 13.

in the FRT the SCAR is listed as prohib, is this a recent development, because last i heard they where supposed to be restricted/non-restricted pending barrel length???

FRT for full auto scar has always been prohib. That's why they requested a review to determine that that SCAR 16s could not be easily converted to fire f/a.

I think this was covered earlier in this thread. Remember that the SCAR 16 and 17 are the select fire Gov/Mil rifles and the SCAR 16S and 17S are the semi auto only civilian versions. AFAIK there has been NO FRT finalization for the SCAR 16S and 17S as of today's date.

Jack Baur has one of these pointed at Logan from 500 yards away. He says it's a '556 rifle' and it's all tricked out w/ forgrip bipod etc...

Man...I stopped watching 24 after season 4 when everything I saw I could swear I had seen in the season b4. I do like Jack's tricked out "5.56 rifle"'s tho.
