**UPDATE**
Just had an awesome trip at the outdoor range with the sks this weekend. Went through 960 rounds with a buddy. Only modification done was the Neit Arms prototype red fiberoptic rear sights. Apart from that.. completely stock.
Here are a few pictures ( BlackBerry are smaller and crappier, DSLR pics are bigger and much cleaner )
EMPTY quiet range
Ammo
Looking out from bench ( can you see the orange 100 targets ? )
100 yard target
Ten feet from target
25 yards from target
Shooting
End of day we walked out about 15 yards from the bench and did some sitting and prone shooting and using the bayonet as mono-pod ( not pictured )
All in all, was hitting the 100 yard target a few times per five round turns. Average was about 2 times of 5 shots. Best all day was 4 of 5... couldnt repeat it all weekend though. Shooting prone with bayonet as monopod, best was 3 of 5. I only had three FTF all day...not bad considering 957 worked flawlessly.
In terms of future modifications, first on the list is a trigger job ( anyone know a g'smith in the GTA that could do this? ) then maybe a monte carlo stock. No need for scope mount or scope, keeping iron sights as is.. besides, kinda takes the fun out of shooting a 1950's rifle if its scoped ( imo that is

)
Shoulder is a bit sore today...but its totally worth it !
