First Handgun - Like a "Honda"

move to a "normal" province or you will be disappointed a lot most of the time when it comes to these things.

Stupid - I thought my RCMP results showed up in the mail but when I opened it was a letter saying I did not include prrof that I met the training requirements...hopefully this won't delay my application but I am on hold waiting to speak with someone now.

I was all excited for nothing :(

I won't mind once I have my license and at least my first gun, that way I will have something to do to pass time. When you have no license and no guns, it's 100x worse than waiting for a 2nd gun

Checked out another Glock today, sights were nice, price is excellent, but the plastic is eeeeek

Sig p226r E2 wasn't as "special" as I thought it would be ... it's nice but I am going to purchase a basic p226r 9mm instead

Yeah I saw that, was actually looking at the E2 on their website for $1169 which is cheaper than anywhere else I believe....was ready to jump the gun on it but after feeling it in person it's not worth the extra for me.

$999 is perfect for what I want

and shipping is free

Aluminum is better, eh? :p

Ehh...not necessarily better, but if I am spending a $1000 on a pistol I just want to feel metal in my hand. I have $150 airsoft pistol that I relate to plastic, it's just not what I want to spend my money on.

Thinking back to my experience holding the glock vs sig today ... the glock allows your hands to get right up inline with the slide, and the grip angle slanted the way it is looks like it would help reduce muzzle flip - that glock probably shoots incredibly smooth because of it's design yet I still want to purchase a sig.

As I build my collection I am sure I will purchase one, but polymer will not be my first handgun purchase.

I wish I had my PAL already, I have money burning holes in my pockets and the more I look online the more cool stuff I find! I also want to score a Ruger 10/22 synthetic stock/stainless barrel for plinking fun, and a Rem 870 or super shorty (just for range fun).

Something like this ...

I thought shooting was going to be cheap compared to motocross racing ... doh :bangHead:

Yeah, the first one is the longest. And, no, it's not cheap. But a lot of things worth doing never really are. Just gotta be patient, man.

Always buy quality, and do not be overly concerned with buying more and more guns. Spend your extra money on training and ammo.

As Jeff Cooper said,"Owning a handgun doesn't make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician.”

Take a Black Badge course, go to a US school for advance training, and practice, practice, practice.

Once you have mastered the pistol, then think about your next gun.

Black Badge is definitely on the hit-list ... can't wait!

Once you get hooked up with a club, keep your eye on this page for the upcoming BB courses.

And I agree completely with the previous post. Buy one gun and become totally proficient with it before you go looking for the next one. If you can see IPSC in your future, have a look at what the top shooters are using before you make your choice.

Well, well...what's this? :D

I put a deposit on this badboy from a forum sponsor (JoBrookBrandon) - I am stoked to get it after my license is approved! It has been a pleasure dealing with Travis so far, I will update after the transaction takes place but I would definitely say he seems to be a man of his word and well worth buying from!

Since I don't have my PAL he was nice enough to hold it on deposit until I get it, very nice of him as he could have disagreed !
