hey guys i picked up an ar-180 about a year a go and i dont seem to be able to get into the armilite rifles. i am the second owner, i have only put 60 rounds through it, works perfectly, the rifle would go with 4 lar 15 mags and a 5/30 mag. what is the going rate for this rifle? and would it be worth trading for a springfield m1a or a vz 858 with a couple of crates of rounds (if so, how many crates?)

thank you

theres one goin on the EE for 1900$ used, I dont think its sold yet, But i bet it will! Everyone wants the non restricted ar and there isnt enough to go around. I think he'll have started a new trend and they will start setting for around 1800$ So if you ask me, i'd say post it for 1800$ especially if it has a low round count and almost 200$ in mags to go with it. so if you want to trade it for an 858 get the 858 and 5 crates of ammo, And then give me one ;)

I sold one NIB unfired a few years ago for $1200.00 (if I remember correctly). Things sure have changed.

I doubt that one on the EE will sell for $1900. It's a used second owner gun! Brand new unfired you might get $1500, used I feel about $1200 to $1400 depending on extra mags, ect. I have Two from the last shipment into Canada; one I have not even touched since I bought them.

I think I paid $1000 for a new one maybe three years ago.
In the US the ar180 is $700 rifle.
I'd say that's what their worth, but... People with cash to spend will convince themselves otherwise.

They have been discontinued, though.

Word is: Armalite will be making a more modern version with a milled receiver and stuff (rails?).

True. But what I'm trying to say is that the AR180B was supposed to be a lower cost civilian black rifle, not a gun that should be selling for almost the price of a used HK rifle.

Just because they were supposed to be that price, doesnt mean they are!, They are almost collectors items now.

All I'm saying is that if Armalite does put them back into production, the prices are going to drop dramatically and the suckers who bought a bare bones used AR180B for $1900 are going to feel like they got burned.

I'm glad I got mine for $980.:nest:

Doubt it, because we'll Have had years and years with ours until new ones even come out, If infact they ever do start making them again.

Okay. But I'll say one thing, if I'm going to be paying around that price for another black rifle in the future, I'll be buying a BRAND NEW Benelli MR1, not a USED rifle that originally cost a little more than half that amount.

We have bought 2 off this board in the last few months for $1200-$1300.

And are happy with 'em?....:yingyang:

Does the R-1 take LAR-15 mags?....;)
