falcon 4-14x44

Allen Gun Works is a pretty bare bones site.

It's bare bones and outdated. :)

I've been deployed for 9 months. (2.5 to go!!!!)

We have one 14ML in stock. On sale because the HST is coming. We have low stock because I am deployed and because we are waiting for some new products from Falcon to come online before we put in another order.

We don't carry many retail products because our focus in on manufacturing. Unfortunately, that has been on hold for the last year too. We will be developing some new products over the winter once I get home and get settled again.

Stay safe and get back home in ONE piece. We need ya here, too! ;)

BTW, I'm up to 4 (yup, you got that right) Falcon scopes in my gun safe!

Life is good!

Only 4? Geez I thought you liked this product :p. I have a few myself mostly on .22LR and .223.

I bought one of those 1.5-5x scopes a few years ago with the intention of putting it on a T97 which as we know isn't going to happen. Looks like it'll go on my Tavor once I figure out which mount to use. I think this should be a good match.

Good scopes overall.

Falcon Menace

I'm with HUNGRY, I have 1 - 6-18x56, 2 - 5.5-25x56 and 1 - 5.5-25x56IR. The illuminated reticle one came with a gun I bought and can't find any info on it or if you can still buy it.

I have a FM 4-14x with the cool skeletal reticle. I'm VERY happy with the scope. I wanted a scope with mil measurements on the reticle and mil adjustments on the turrets. I also like the 1/2 mil lines on the reticle.

I would say I'm 100% happy with it.

The only thing to note, is as I have a FFP reticle, it is a bit thick at max magnification. It almost covers 1/2" at 100m (this is from me trying to measure stuff at range, I haven't read the specs). For coyote hunting, no problem. For target shooting, some reticles are covered. I use the targets you often see around with the 1" lines and the orange targets, and they get totally covered by the reticle at 100m. If I shoot at a 1" square, it can be hard to see.

...But for coyotes, awesome!

I've run my 5.5-25 as well as an older 4.5 - 18 over 1000 yd and although the glass was a bit smokey, the reticle was fine. I eventually hit ( Me not the gun, or scope) what I was aiming at, it could have been atmospheric conditions, or whatever, cause my Leopold spotting scope was looking a bit smoky too. Therefore I just dialed back a bit. As far as a ffp / mil mil scope goes, I don't know, I'm looking for something for a .284 build and I am actually looking at another Falcon for it. It's either that, or for $2000.00 plus maybe one of the other major high end scope makers offerings. Unless I win the lottery or sell some guns, or the wife kicks me out( Actually, that won't happen, she appreciates guns) I just can't qualify the extra cost. Trust me I've had high end optics on guns before and I'm really struggling with this. I have REALLY been bitten by the long range bug and FFP as well as Mil / Mil would, to most people mean $2 - $3 Grand worth of glass...But Falcon scopes are working for me.

Also, regardless of my choices down the road, Mike has proven over and over again that customer service is 1st, I'm a loyal repeat customer. I've had ONE problem with a scope and it was dealt with forthwith, so, unless I find something that is going to blow these scopes away, I'm thinking I'm staying with them.

You will find with many different product reviews on the Internet that people tend to overpraise products simply because they own them. With that in mind I purchased a falcon 4-14x44. When I got to the range I zeroed the scope in @ 100 yards. It held it's zero fine on a 308. I then did a box test to see how well it tracked. Overall I was impressed. The scope adjusted perfectly both up and down and left and right. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Well , to me some of the posts said it all, "it's a little cheaper.........."
The old rule of thumb I have heard too many times to mention.Value of the glass should be same or better than the value of the rifle. This to me is the one area there is no point getting cheap.Buying the less expensive tires means you will usually have to buy more of them. Weaver has the T series and Super slam.Nikon has some decent stuff.I will send you a link to some good priced quality stuff.

These aren't going to replace the top tier stuff. What you'll find is they are good scopes with good glass. Many of us who do recommend them also have NF, Zeiss etc on some of our rifles. Which tells you that we find them acceptable as a less expensive alternative for rifles we can't or won't justify dropping 2-3K on glass for. In my case a lot of my decent .22LR semi autos, some varmint rifles in .223 and AR-15 rifles. On a side note I have a 1.5-5x that I originally bought to put on a T-97 but will now be going on my Tavor. If it were junk I wouldn't be putting it on a 3K rifle.

The trade offs. 94% light transmission instead of 95% on Elite 4200, Burris Fullfield II etc. That 1% isn't that big of a difference (Note some of the older Falcon scopes were at 92% light transmission and many of the reviews are with those specs. All of the newer ones are at the higher standard). The reticles choices are excellent, unlike the Elite series. These scopes have an excellent balance of features and are at a reasonable (although not cheap) price range.

On a side note the ML-16 reticle for the Falcon is very similar to the NP-R1 reticles I have on my Night force scopes. It's my favourite overall reticle.
