... I was describing the felt recoil from the light HVA rifle. The .358 NM caliber itself is worth about the same as the .375 H&H and that's why I was comparing both. So, no worries, you choose the right caliber for your baby.

I am more into metric calibers, so here's a picture with a .308 Win, a 8X57, a 9.3X62 and the (unbulleted) Norma Mag.
The case itself is basically a .300 WM cut down of about 0.100"
Ballistically, it provides about the same performances than a 375 H&H thowing a 250 grains bullet. The heavier bullets are less current, though.
