Good place to buy a range bag

If I'm just taking a plinker or two, the bag and individual cases work nicely. If I'm bringing a selection of handguns, then I go to a dedicated multi-gun box.

But whatever works for you....

$50 at home depot will buy WAY better quality range bags than any of the "tactical" options under a couple hundred bucks.

This is what I use...easily hold half a dozen guns, although I usually take 1-2 guns, belt, couple holsters, ear/eye protection, 300-500 rounds, 12 mags, spare eye/ear pro, cleaning gear (unused of course) couple rags, some first aid stuff, and 6 mag holders.

There is still plenty of room. The only bags I have seen that are as well built start around $200-250. IMO the uncle mikes and 5.11 are cheap junk.

The only downside to the one I use...it's heavy. But it's very well built. Home Depot, $50.

I got an Uncle Mike's and thought it would be pretty good.......Great zippers and that's it! Pretty disappointed with the holster as well.

Maybe you drag your bags behind a vehicle on the way to the range. First time I've heard a guy say 5.11 is crap.

I second the 5.11 range bag. Just got mine a couple days ago (ebay-$100). I think its great. Lots of room and seems to be more than rugged enough, unless like someone mentioned, I start dragging it behing my car. ;)

you can go to Crappy Tire and buy a plastic toolbox that's lockable for the guns, and stuff that into the bag along with a bit of ammo, your eyes-n-ears, etc. i picked up the rolling bin for $60 at CT plus a $12 flat toolbox (also CT) for the guns themselves. one fits inside the other, but can also be carried separately if you wish to leave most stuff in the car and only take the guns inside the house. total cost less than $100, and at least the bin gives you a good surface on which to sit if the range you're at has no benches.

Well I use the 5.11 duty bags, one is a issue dedicated range bag and the other a duty bag...they suck! Cheaply made, the bag Misanthropist has is a great bag and easily carries all the stuff you need. The only issue I had with the one I got is that the top opening is not ideal...still for the money it is a steal.

If you buy a range bag, buy one that has 1000D cordura, that is the difference between a good bag and one that might not last as long. Here is one I have for $60 in the EE. It is 1000D.
