For huge hands: Para double stack .45
ya, the Para P14-45 is a NICE fit. so nice that i'm getting super-fat grips for my single-stack 1911 so that my massive hands fit nicely around it (since Para doesn't make a double-stack commander, but they DO make a double-stack defender, a 3" or so barrel, the Warthog)
for BIG hands, a large / xlarge frame revolver is a good bet. glock 21 is good. para. actually the beretta is quite nice as well. desert eagle ought to be good, though i've yet to see one and hold one in person.

I use size 7 gloves and have no problem with a Colt Government Model in .45 with a flat mainspring housing. It also fits a very nice Kimber .22 LR conversion kit. If you buy plastic, you really haven't bought a firearm at all. The nice thing about steel is that it helps absorb felt recoil. On the other hand plastic doesn't rust when you clean it in the dishwasher!!

steel rusts, is heavy, is harder to form into various shapes especially since everyone around here seems to loathe MIM methods and only views forging as an acceptable way of shaping steel, and depending on the grade or type of steel used, it can actually be more rigid and transmit shock rather than absorb it.
but yeah, it's a fine material to use with early-1900's developments!
at least they're not using steel to make modern silly things like iPhones, ICs, fiber optics, airplanes, medicine dispensers, airbags, parachutes, luggage, car tires, etc....

I have smal hand too. Had to sold the sig P226R in .40 because it didn't fit
I switched it for the H&K P2000 and I love it.
Also whit smal hand it's hard to hit the mag release of normal pistol whit out switching your grip. THe german style mag release like the one on walther or H&K is perfect (I own a P22 and H&K P2000).
It will look akward the first time you hit the mag release but you get used to it really fast and the slide release is ambi!

a desert eagle in .50 AE.it is STUPID big.i have small hands and shot one round from one(not 'cause i'm a pu$$y,but because it was someone else's gun and ammo is STUPID EXPENSIVE.).i had to use both hands just to be able to shoot it.recoil was about a stiff .44 mag.
for small hands,a norc. m93 sportsman in .22, an m1911a1 in .45 or any other caliber.
for REALLY small hands a walther p22.it is so small it's insane.
