Edit: I bought a rifle, see post #43.

Due to a wrist injury and surgery, I'm not able to use one of my normal stocked rifles this fall and need something I can hunt with.

I'm pretty much unable to move my right wrist (my trigger hand) enough to fit on the curved grip of a normal stock. I have a .22 with a pistol grip stock and it does work well enough for me to actually be able to shoot.

Does anybody know of anything that may work for me? I haven't been able to find much in my searches and the while the Weatherby Axiom could work, I'm not a fan of its looks.

I'll be using it for my moose LEH this year so something like a .308 would be nice.

Thanks for any ideas or thoughts!

The Spec Ops style stock like the one above is also made for Remington pump action rifles or you can fit any 870 aftermarket shotgun stock to a Rem 760 or 7600 if you shave down the stock a bit or make an adaptor.

The Norinco M-14 clone with a vertical stock would work for a semi

Its possible that aftermarket pistol grip stocks for Rem 20ga 870 and 1100 shotguns may fit on Remington pump and autoloading rifles.
I think.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about that. I'll keep it in mind.

i would look at the Thompson/Center ProHunter. very comfortable pistolgrip.
I was wondering if the TC could possibly work, I'll have to see if I can find one at a local shop. Based on looks, I'm not totally sure if the stock will work. My wrist is frozen straight inline with my forearm (beer holding position:D) and the stock looks like it could get in the way. Can anybody tell me if you need to bend your wist much to grip the stock properly?

I have the axiom stock that you showed up there and I love it. It a ctually really reduce the recoil in half. This hould also give a break to your wrist. If you want more info on it PM me

^^^
it also comes in 7.62x39

Yeah, I did do some research about it too but it seems a little light powered for moose. It is also more than I was planning on spending.

Back to the TC, I found a picture that look like it may have answered my question about fit. Now I just need to see one in person.

Have you checked the Marlin curved grip or Savage 99 grips? I have a 99C in 308 that is my fave deer gun. The C has a DM in it too. Nice rifle. Snaps up like my 94.

Pistol grips are a thing of comfort for me. I love them due to the position of the wrist when shooting, it reduces the movement of my entire arm down to my fingertips as I squeeze the trigger. Less felt recoil, I'm more comfortable, I can get a cheekweld faster, I can get a better trigger pull, EVERYTHING is better with that grip.

Pistol grip is AWESOME.

I'd be very worried about scope kiss with one of those axiom stocks. Def need long eye relief. You could also check out the nef/h and r survivor rifles. Skeletonized stock single shot and I;m sure they're available in 308

ya might want to consider a MAK tube gun

http://www.tubegun.net/

These are stock replacements for a remington 700

you just bolt your rem 700 into it and it looks and handles like a AR15
You can also glue the action in place with JB weld and its extra accurate

Plus you can get 5 or 10 round mags

Lots of the best target shooters use these
