Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to take your bait because I am not a big 358 Win. fan or anything like that.
I'm curious to know what makes you feel that it is so inferior.
Several years ago I hunted with a wildcat 338/08 which has to be very similar to the current 338 Fed., and if I recall it was faster than my 358, but not by much. Superior performance yes.....vastly superior no.
Both have their specific purpose and I think both are good at what they can do.
I think the 338 RCM has them both beat and the 338 Lapua Imp is vastly superior to all of them.....

got the 358IMP back today, hit the range tonight and sent some factory 185tsx downrange. Empty brass is in the tumber, time to get handloading 200gr Accubonds!

nope and I spoke with the Federal rep this week and he didn't have a real answer. But with factory ammo available, we can always make brass that way same cant be said for the 358......another point for the IMPROVED 358!
