Wolf Bullets

Thanks for your quick reply chemist. I will be placing an order with you folks shortly. Just a couple of quick questions before I do:

1. For a glock 17, is there much advantage of using the TMJ vs the FMJ? Is one better or worse for the gun, or is there a difference in the way that they are cast that makes one more expensive?

2. As far as UPS goes, if they come to my home to make the delivery and I am not here, what would they do in that case? I presume that they would not be able to leave ammo on my doorstep. Sorry for the shipping question but I do not do a great deal of business via mail/courier.

UPS has no idea what they are shipping - trust me. The guy will leave it at your door if you're okay with that.

TMJ completely encases the bullet. With FMJ, the back of the bullet is exposed lead. TMJ is cleaner to shoot as a result. If you're "casual" target shooting TMJ is the way to go.
 
Cool thanks. I am going to try and shoot as much as I can. Will likely start with an order of 500 as a start. Thanks for the info RMX. Just curious why FMJ is a bet more expensive than TMJ if TMJ has more jacket?

The TMJ likely has a thinner electroplated jacket whereas the FMJ has a thicker jacket. TMJ is cheaper to manufacture than FMJ.

You pretty much have to get to +P pressures to get .38 special to make power factor.
That would require you to ask for it so a special run was made.
AFAIK , all standard pressure factory .38 Special falls below Power Factor.
This is why they (IDPA Headquarters) are considering lowering the PF for SSR IIRC.

Still waiting to hear if and when they lower the PF For SSR, Until then, I found a recipe with titegroup and a 158 gr bullet that makes it.

The Wolf .38's are great for practice sessions though.
