can i kill a crow with a .22 pellet

Those Predator Polymags don't work nearly as well as advertised. They penetrate about as well as any pointed pellet in a sub 500fps airgun, with the accuracy of a hollowpoint pellet (read: not that great) as far as i've tested them in 500fps guns up to 850fps ish guns. I find that my crosman premier hollowpoints for 12 bucks/500 shoot and work better than the predators at 20 bucks for 200.
Just a gimmick that kinda works, i think their major selling point is that they look cool more than anything else. I know some people really like them, and if you're lucky, your gun might like them, but from what i've experienced they're a waste of money.
That said, can you shoot your gun accurately enough to hit a quarter at 25 or 30 yards? If you're wantign to shoot crows at sub 500fps, you'll need to do just that. A good solid hit in the chest at 20 yards will get you nothign more than a squawk, though you might not see that specific crow come back. They're smart buggers for birds, some say as smart as a dog, and they learn quick. I've only ever killed one that i know of for sure with my sub 500fps .177 Gamo cadet-s that's about 20 years old with a perfect eye shot (lucky) at about 30 feet. My .22 phantom has hopefully given some other some lead poisoning, but it's simply not consistent enough to get a perfect headshot every time. Either way, i don't have crows tearing up my garbage and crapping on my car anymore.

I was considering a Benjamin Sheridan Trail NP Hardwood or Benjamin Sheridan Trail NP XL 1100

Predator Polymags are deadly in my HW80K/.22 Many dead crows and grouse even out to near 40 yards getting pass throughs on body shots.They would be useless in non FAC guns as they wouldn't be going fast enough to expand.They were almost as accurate as JSB Jumbo Exacts.Maybe not in your gun .But Weihrauch barrels are right up there with Lothar Walther.No wonder MAC1 chose HW for his custom MKII pistol line..........Harold ...Largest med SG shot with one was a headshot skunk
i cant explain just how fREking devestating Beeman "crow-magnum" or Crossman "destroyer" pellets are to feathered pests

as of yesterday, i have killed 19 crows so far this year from
the trees on my property.
all killed with a daisy red ryder .177 bb rifle.
about half of them were taken with one shot to the head.
the other half were stunned by the the first shot and either
dangled upside down on a branch or fell to the ground and were
finished off by a second shot.
great target practice and now that their population is controlled
( almost completely annihilated ) a lot of smaller birds have started coming around as they are no longer bullied by crows.
cardinals, blue jays, doves, hummingbirds , swallows , robins and all kinds
of beautifull birds now come eat in the feeders and drink in the baths
all over my property.

I have the trail Np but if you can get the XL, little more $ but it is advertised with 1100 fps vs the 950 of the Np. Np is very silent. and it seem to be great for shooting pest.
I like calling them in and then wacking them with a 12 gauge. But if you can't make noise, a pellet gun, .177 or .22 will kill them dead as well. Lots of fun crow hunting, they are very wiley.
