I got one several months ago . It had a few issues. Sent it back & got a replacement no questions asked & they covered the shipping both ways . ( It did take a wile though)

The wood look to be refinished profesionaly
The PO stripped all the cosmo off and then refinished the stock with Tung oil, I believe. It is very well done and I am very happy with my new 60 year old Mauser.
A while ago I lucked into a stash of surplus 8x57 and it shoots beautifully in this rifle. Definitely a lot warmer than commercial 8x57, too. The really hot AP 8x57 must be interesting to shoot in one of these.
