Am I the only one worked up about this one. I'll be saving up, $1300 is a long ways off.
Are there pictures or specs anywhere, the japanese Highwalls have a pretty good reputation and are good value, I'd just prefer them in traditional calibers.
Why all the excitement over the Browning versions when Winchester has the 1885 in 45-70 and low walls too.
How can they be bringing out a single shot rifle and not have one single rimmed cartridge option? Surely, they could at least do .22 Hornet, .30-40 Krag, and .45-70.
I'll be more excited when they offer it in .219 Donaldson Wasp or .225 Winchester.
Because most versions of the full tang Winchester 1885 are more than twice the cost.

They are going to be making them in the WSM line, too!
Might have to pick up a 325WSM![]()

I still prefer the Browning 1885 over the B78. IMHO the round barrels on the new B78's are no where near as classy as the tapered octagon barrels on the older models.
Jeez hasn't anyone noticed the new Winchester 1885's
High Wall: 45-70, 45-90, 405 Win
Low Wall: 22 Hornet, .223, 22-50, .243
Don't the WSM suffer from bolt thrust issues, especially so in single shot rifles? Besides it's just not right to chamber them in the more modern cartridges, only rimmed classics should be allowed.![]()
