the nm spring guide rod performs the following beneficial functions
keeps spring straight through the compression stroke as it collapses and expands on the rod. the standard rod allows the spring to bend during the compression stroke, which in turn causes oprod wigle and more wear and tear on parts.
ideally one would match condition the oprod guide's barrel surface to take out any rotational play in the oprod guide and this simple procedure, coupled with an NM spring guide rod, causes the moving parts to run the same path each stroke and thus the harmonics of the action are stabilized.... if this is the right way to put it.
noticeable differences in accuracy will vary from rifle to rifle. there are many who claim the difference with or without the NM spring guide was noticeable in thier particular rifle.
the NM spring guides are simply put..... an improvement over the original design.
