1949 Russian SKSs at Westrifle

Well, received SKS833 today.

First impressions:

Looks good, stock is heavily sanded and oiled, not shellaced and has a repair at the stock ferrule. Bayo is pretty interesting. All numbers match. All metal except the dust cover and trigger group has been blasted and painted, like the other 1949's offered for sale. Paint job does not look as bad as the Bell import rifles that were painted. Rear sight is in the white/grey. Magazine is the standard FrankenPin. I had been hoping that they would not be painted but hey, how else will ya get a 1949 blade bayonet model? All in all, am pretty pleased with my purchase.

Very nice 1949! They are likely all refurb but nothing wrong with that since sks 1949 with spike bayonet are really scarce item. I'm pretty sure that finding non-refurb 1949 is almost impossible. I cant wait to have mine next week, so i will have a pair of 1949, 1 with blade bayo and 1 with spike. I will post pic when i get mine too:)

congrats DAR , looks good but the rear sight doesnt look white/grey to me .

your second to last pic looks alot better than the last pic .

Thanks! The pictures did not turn out very well. The rear sight is without finish. The action cover and trigger group ARE painted, just done very well so it is hard to tell. The good picture was taken with flash, the last one was not. Now that I have my 49 and 1 each of unfired non refurb 53 and 54 Izzy's I can slow down with the SKS collection as the rest of the rifles will be easier (and cheaper!) to locate!

Westrifle has some pretty nice stuff. I got the SVT and the MN91/30 this week in the mail. They were in immaculate condition. Doesn't look like they've ever been fired. Not a scratch or wear mark on either of them. Maybe shoot them tommorow.

I'm EXTREMELY pleased with the condition of those rifles. They look brand new. Further to mention that my order took only 5 days to arrive. Very well done guys, its been a pleasure.

Whats the availability of more mags, svt tool, and stripper clips? Any word on ammo?
