Have you ever eaten squirrel?

gray and black squirrel hunting is still one of my favorites. squirrels you find in the bush are much more wary than those found in the city which can make hunting them quite difficult sometimes. i usually sit for 20 minutes waiting for a couple to show themselves. shoot one and watch where the others go and head off after them. great fun with a bow shooting blunts as well.

squirrel meat tastes great and is very tender and juicy if cooked properly. its very easy to over cook the meat resulting in a dry piece of rubber. my favorite is dividing the squirrel, dipping in egg and then coat with crispy shake n bake. deep fry in 375 oil until there is a touch of pink left near the bone. the meat will finish cooking after you remove it from the oil and let it rest for 10 minutes.

when cooked properly its super juicy, tender like a perfectly cooked chicken wing, and has great flavor.

"...not sure if I"d want to eat a squirrel..." Don't confuse city living tree rats that will eat anything with bush living wild game. Even though bush living tree, I mean, game are cannibalistic, they're not the same thing.

Funny... People eat "hot dogs" and they are the lips & a--holes scraped off the floor of the slaughter house with a bulldozer and dumped into the "hot dog machine". After chewing on that crap, squarrels are easy!!!

Squirrels are on the no hunt list in Quebec, if we were allowed to hunt them I'd be cooking 'em.

Can you quote the law ? (found it, sorry)

Il est interdit de chasser les espèces pour lesquelles on ne délivre pas de permis ni ne détermine de période ou de moyen de chasse, notamment les oiseaux de proie et les reptiles (couleuvres et tortues).
