Actually Quigley, it(the tape) is an old shotgun trick to stop the stock from snagging under your arm on a low butt start position.

I found the butt pad on the 590 was too sticky, like mrclean has alluded too, it kept on getting caught on my shirts or jackets, so the Duct tape was a low cost fix! It does slide nicely to the shoulder now though, and I really don't care what the gun looks like.

The duct tape may be lucky...with the way you are shooting....leave it alone. You may start a trend.

Just for clarity...
I try to put each of the shooter's photos in different folders...and name the folders the name of the shooter. If I don't remember the name, I usually call the folder a description of what you were wearing.....I do remember you were having feeding and jamming issues Dave, so I called the folder Jam man.....
Inside the IPSC three gun 2010 folder is separate folders ie..John, Craig, Rob, David, etc...

No problem, kinda stupid trying newly modified magazines with out testing first. Later I only loaded 5 instead of 6 and she was working fine. The was the first stage before my forehead and neck got crispy red!

'Been to one day 3-gun matches with 70 shooters where the round count is close to 100 rifle 200 pistol and 75 shotshell with a little bit of 00buck and a handfull of slugs thrown in...
