Have you any idea why those various types of surplus were not approved for import? Surely the reasoning behind these decisions is a matter of public record?!

Some were approved and removed due to the new fee system, some were never submitted for approval due to the delays involved.
So far, this does not sound too outrageous. Loading rifle ammo on a commercial press is not that hard. Re manufactured "sporting use" ammo should not be impossible to get a permit for. I am mildly optomistic so far. Cost, time with red tape, and time consuming manufacturing are all normal aspects of running a business. It would be factored into the price. Any other negatives?
I can share some small insight to this, as a business partner and myself in the process of applying for a commerical reloading permit and approval to sell remanufcuterd ammunition. I can assure you now this is not an easy nor fast process. We've completed ( if im not mistaken ) eight forms, and were still not 100% clear if there are more needed. The answers and responses we've received from the MNR and RCMP are vague to say the least. Be prepared to submit documentation on
1) your facility
2) ALL materials used
3) security of facility
4) Location - Zoning / Bylaw restrictions
5) MNR / RCMP testing ammunition ( fees and waiting times )
6) Plans, drawings, hazard studies, SOPs, ER plan, etc. would have to be submitted and reviewed by ERD prior to licensing.

as far as you know has anyone attempted to submit the British Radway Green 7.62NATO to them?
The Brits can export the stuff, and i believe we can import from them...
What would the process be to get it reapproved or how does one send them a sample to test ? Is it done by the company ?
And what varies for military ammunition . anyone we can start writing letters to ?
I am glad to see that someone is going down this road. I would not want to go through all that work only to have to compete with someone else when margins are minimal to begin with. Perhaps it might be easier to get through some of the red tape in B.C. though. MNR in Ontario can be brutal. Keep us posted on your progress. Perhaps there's room for an East/West venture.
