I've been running the prototype for a while now and haven't had a issue. I run a single-point sling and my rifle is always getting thrown around for transitions. I also used a Dlask extended release for a couple years before this and also never had an issue with oversized releases. Our release doesn't stick out much farther than his does. And the right side is actually even closer to the receiver than the left. We just wanted to give enough real estate on the right for a right handed shooter to release with their index finger, while keeping in mind you mutant lefties out there.
I think a lot of the reason is because of the amount of movement required before the magazine actually releases. It's quite forgiving and requires a deliberate movement.
We have some of these and other items heading overseas for trials for some guys with way more time than me on this rifle (And I'm nearing the 70k rnd mark this fall).. that are pretty horny for this. I'm sure we'll know real quick if they like them as much as we do..
