I am looking to raise my cheek weld on my 5R a little to get the most comfortable position and consistent shot.
I see some people use soft cheek pads
while others use hard cheek rests (like a riser).
Is there a rule of thumb (IE: if you wanna move it up a little go soft, if you wanna move it alot go hard)? is it just personal preference? Part of me thinks that a hard cheek rest/pad would provide a more consistent cheek weld then a softer pad but with as many people as I see using a soft one, I must be missing something.
