I couldn't find anything when I tried to do a search, If I was to get a barrel longer then 18.5" would it be Non-Restricted or since it looks "EVIL" is it automatically Restricted?

I think a AR-15 with a match barrel would be a perfect predator hunting rifle:sniper:

AR-15 are always restricted by name. The length of the barrel doesn't matter. However, there are some similar black rifles of differing designs that are non-restricted.

There are plenty of threads and examples of the non-restricted black rifles on CGN.

Oh how we wish.... Welcome to the fight!

If you want it non-restricted join a gun organization and get involved in the fight...

Until then no "evil" ar-15's allowed... Children actually die when the name is mentioned ;)

I don't mean to be a ####, but this is somthing you should know from your PAL course.
Yes it is restricted because of its 'evil looks'. All ar15's and ANY variants are restricted by name.
If you want an 'evil looking' non restricted black rifle, look into the RobArms XCR. It is the closest thing to a ar15 that you can take into the bush.

Up here in Northern Saskatchewan no one even thinks of AR-15's or really any black rifles, all people know and teach here is hunting rifles and shotguns haha. Thanks for the quick reply's though...

the fun thing about this is that AR15 are ALWAYS restricted want a restricted pistol with a 1 inch barrel just build it on the AR platform and voila

Wrong I grew up in Meadow Lake and there are plenty of black rifle and pistol owners there. Just need to talk to the right people.

what's a PAL?:D

what's a PAL?:D

A PAL is the guy you call to go for a beer with when you're significant other is in that part of her cycle.:D

That reminds me of an old joke:

Why do they call it PMS?

Because Mad Cow was already taken.

Well I do know some guys with pistols but not too many with black rifles let alone a AR-15. Sorry for the inconvenience asking a question has caused you guys

The status of the AR15 series of rifles is well covered in the PAL/RPAL course.

There are many threads on this site regarding the status of the AR15 family of rifles and the rediculous laws that attack them.

It is suspicious to say the least that you're asking these questions. People are assuming that you belong to one of the anti gun groups and are phishing for responses that could be used in a manner that is not friendly too firearms owners.

...So?

Anyway. Its actually the lower reciever thats restricted. So you ever hear of that crossbow that goes on a ar15 lower...guess what...its restricted:p

I'm definitely PRO-GUN, I just got my PAL two months ago and already bought 3 guns and was looking at getting another soon... I never took the PAL course; I just challenged the exams. Thanks for all the quick reply's though guys
