As said Earl, just completed a course with him. No matter what anyone says I still think he's an ok guy
. Seriously though it was a lot of fun and improved my shooting skills a lot. You realize how much you've still got to learn and he gives you the skills and drills on how to get there. Well worth the effort! 
This site is full of whiners wanting training 'like they have in the US' then when it's offered poof! Honestly the vast majority are talkers and fondlers, of all the guys I did the course with with Earl none of them post here much at all, simply active shooters dedicated to improving their skills.
You guys asked for training and One Shot delivered, step up to the plate or go play with Airsoft!
Hitting the nail on the head right there. There are still threads once or twice a month about training. 50 guys scream yes, then you give them a course and a date and nothing. The courses we have run are filled with guys who do put their money where their mouth is and usually don't post on here. Amazing guys who make it worthwhile to run the courses.
my reason is simple - i'm spending a few bucks on paint and new furnishings and stuff, so can't do the $300 for the course right now... that and i'm out of .40 ammo cuz i haven't gotten around to setting up my reloading jig - see paint above.

Course was excellent. Earl is a good instructor and very astute at picking up the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals and the group and moves forward accordingly. A big thumbs up to Valerie whose skills by the end of the day had come together and she put a hurting on the paper in the box drill.
Basics are always valuable. Since I'm more of a rife/carbine guy, and my pistol skills suck unless I'm running auto pilot, it was nice to start from the bottom up again.

+1, though Gunslinger, active shooter is an LEO term for the crazy guys that go into schools/post offices/shopping malls with guns and start whacking innocents....you mean avid shooters....
Had a Good time, Tritium. Nice to hang with some like minded people and shoot guns. That G19 runs alot different than the G17, thanks again for expanding the box in that regard.
'f**k it! We will do it live.' Solid course with an excellent instructor. Good training is good training, stop talking about it and get to it.

Good day and great course. I got a lot out of it!
Ran a brand new Norc 1911 that hadn't been fired yet and it worked perfectly except for one instance when it just needed some more lube on it.
Noticed my grip changed part way through the day though. I ended up resting my thumbs on the slide lock which prevented it from engaging when I ran dry. Thought it was a problem with the gun until I focused again on my grip.
I was able to see what worked and didn't work for the kit I had just put together for the course as well. First Aid kit was a little to big and impeded my draw so I need to move it to a new spot.
Holster, pistol, belt kit all worked really well.
After taking a few courses with trainers who had only military backgrounds it was good to have Earl as an instructor with an LE background who brought new ideas to the table.
Everyone on the course got something out of it from what I saw, even those who are at a higher skill set.
Earl was able to handle all levels of shooters from myself and Valarie to Starlight and NeitArms in the same course and make it worthwhile. All types of shooters as well, from drop leg to belt, civie to military and LE, and beginers to advanced.
Aaron was able to give Starlight a run for his money in a "shoot off" running a pistol that wasn't his. I'm very happy that he was able to make it out. It was a pleasure to have him on the course. He also bought lunch for everyone as a thank you for the pistol, ammo and arrangements we helped him with.
The only disappointing part of the day was the fact that more shooters don't jump on these opportunities for training. Maybe it's money, time or ego, but it's a missed opportunity to improve your skills.
I hope for the next course we will have the course full with more people wanting spots.

Really not happy I wasn't here for it....I like to get all the training and courses I can. Not matter the skill level, everyone can usually learn something as long as they keep an open mind.
Nice to see there still a few of us shooting manly guns in manly calibers.
I think this is another advantage of doing a course most don't realize until they've done one. Until you actually try your equipment out somewhere other than in front of the mirror you really don't know what works. Sure your gun makes for a nice show piece without scratches and your kit is all colour co-ordinated multicam (like the instructors in some cases
),..........but do you KNOW it works? And it's the little things that make a difference like Locktiting your rear sight screw so you're not shooting 6" left for an hour thinking you're all f*cked up only to find it's the gun......for a change. The devil's in the details and this all comes up during the course. After a day of instruction you'll be reassessing your kit and looking at your gun like the tools on your bench, something to be used and not coddled, scratches......meh......experience credits each and every one of them.I went through the same thing with my grip, after years of doing my way Earl showed me a better way but didn't force his opinions on me, let me discover the right way with some pointers. Sometimes you just have to go through the process before you get it.
I'm also a believer in getting training from as many sources as possible. Each instructor has something of value for your tool box. Suck it all up and use it to form your own 'system' based on your philosophy, needs and abilities.
You can read and watch DVD's/YouTube as much as you like, it's all of value, but 80% of the real usefull stuff you can only get from instructed trigger time. It's all here for the taking, make use of it!
