hi im new to the site i have just picked up a mp40 and 45 cal thompson i thought they where dewats but after a better look i found that parts of the barrel nut on the mp40 and upper reciever on the thompson are not made of steel so i dont know how to sell them they have full functioning actions with bolt extractors, the safety and full-semi selector all works like a real fire arm on the thompson i would say the mp40 is real but their is larger chamber that does not fit a 9mm and the barrel and chamber are made of a weird maybe white medal so i dont know if they are dewats with different parts or movie props and the barrels are pluged with a flat piece of metal that runs the length of the barrel you can see down each side of the piece of metal in the barrel i would like to sell them im a restricted licence holder i dont know if that is needed any offers you realy have to look close to tell that they are not real thanks Adolf45:evil::confused::confused:

what you have are toys not real guns they are paperweights and can be sold to anyone but i am not the least bit interested in something like that the white metal will no doubt be zinc its not hard to tell pot metal fakes from the real item good luck passing them on liberal-hater

Sounds like the replica MP 40 that I owned in the early '70's, no problem finding replicas like them back then. They would probably be of some interest to people who do WW2 re-enacting, post pictures.

Except, of course, that replica firearms are prohibited devices and cannot be transferred.
So this post must be hypothetical, because no one would announce on an open internet site that they violated criminal law.

A newbie named Adolf who purposely writes like a flunkie. I bet he is from Toronto with a mission to stir sh*t up on CGN.

Yes, it would be nice to get some pictures up here. At least we can LOOK AT the frangible-zinc TOYS that we are no longer allowed to own.

I'll see if I can find some photos of lawn darts, too.....

But yes, re-enactors might be interested but the best market would be with the movie guys; they can own all these terrible things legally.

We should all feel so much safer that a Lie-beral Gov't banned toys!
(No brains or priorities in that Party),
now lets just end the registry once and for all.

I recall being at a gunshow back in the day, when the local gendarmerie grabbed one of the MP-40 replicas and the exhibitor. Took them a while to figure out that it wasn't a firearm.
It is odd that a dewat is totally uncontrolled, but a replica is a prohibited device.
Strange minds, these Liberals....

You see! What we need is a toy registry! "I'm calling to complete the transfer of my Mr. Potato head and my vibrator. I don't have a length on the Potato head... Oh, no need to register ### toys? -very well, just the Potato head then..."

Would that include the capguns we all had as kids? Crikey, I can also recall full size plastic M1 Carbine and Thompson look-alikes under the Christmas tree many moons ago. I guess most of us have focussed too much on the rules about real guns to worry about the rules for non-guns.

If you owned your replica firearms before 1998 they will not be confiscated (you can still own them legally) but you are not supposed to sell them. This is a real gray area and lots of stuff passes without much legal trouble. Wave one of them outdoors in public... that's a different story.

You used to be able to buy plastic 2/3 scale Garands and FALs, too.

But that was in the Really Old Days.

Now that we have had Trudeau and Cretin and Lyin' Brian and Kimmie the Kommie, we have a country in which a person can be arrested for the crime of "walking in a menacing manner" while carrying a gray plastic model of an M-4 from the house to the car. Took me 3 hours to get my helper out of jail. Recently, a friend was 'detained' (NOT 'arrested', mind you: if you 'arrest' somebody without charging them, you can be sued for false arrest. She was simply forcibly confined against her will.) while visiting the town in which I live. The reason? "Looking strange".

Are we protected enough yet? Do we need any more protection?

We can't put the car-thieves, child-molesters, killers and cannibals in jail: it might hurt their feelings.

Yup, likely we need more protection.

.................. .................

The reasoning behind the ban on REPLICA FIREARMS was another of those typically Canadian 'reasons' for more Government regulation: someone might modify one to fire real ammo. It took the police (with their unlimited budget and free machine-shop and machinists) 6 months to mod one of these things to fire; the frame broke in half on the 6th round. On THAT basis, they were all banned.

Red Rose Tea ain't the ONLY thing that's "only in Canada? Pity.".

Hmmm...what you do in your private time is no ones business...just keep it in the closet so no one can see or hear :ninja: cou:

The OP...sounds mysterious...and potentially incriminating....I can just hear the quotes. "They said on gunnutz...." You guys can fill in the blanks using the mind of liberal.
