Were there many M1917's made? Only 2,202,429
Eddystone(remington); 1,181,908
Winchester; 465,980
Remington (illion N.Y. plant) 545,541
Of course the British didn't get much use of P14's in WW1, BUT they were glad they had them in the second test match with adolph. Most went through the Weedon repair centre when they knew the war was coming
The Lend lease M1917's went mostly to the Home Guard
The P14's were issued to the Army.
A total of 1,117,850 P14's were produced
Just an add. The Remington Model 30 Sporting rifle was made from parts left over from WW1. The "ears" were ground off the reciever, the rifle blued, and a sporting stock was used. There were so many parts left over from WW1 production that the model 30 continued to be sold until 1940
