You're looking at it the wrong way (IMHO)...
Look at the history of the match...if the numbers are growing year over year (don't count the Provincials) than from the clubs perspective it's a success.
It should also allow you to calculate how many slots you will need in future years...and how many days you need to set aside to provide those spaces.
It's not about money...if the match was a sellout...everyone is still doing slave labour.
The 3 week-end 3 gun is probably just as much work...if not more...and there's far fewer than 110 shooters.
With almost 2 weeks left my guess is you will have about 130 in total...and there's nothing wrong with that.
That said...I am surprised there are not more shooters at the non Prov Level 3's (ESSA and Kingston)
It is about the money when it is going to charity!
The Club is not making any money on this match.
Matches are going to start making money for the Club because we have a new Club House being built!
As such, I guess EESA would welcome donations. If one is unable to attend the match, one should consider making a donation.

I have one word to all of you don't want to come to EESA Match.
Shame.
This is an opportunity of being able to shoot very well organized match.
Profits of the match will go to cystic fibrosis found which make this match even more important. There is still time for those (almost 1000 IPSC ON shooters) to attend.

I agree, everyone is always #####ing that there are not enough Level III's and we have these 2 matches that barely get 150 shooters? If you don't support the clubs that put on these matches don't expect them to put more of them on.
Show them some support and shoot the local matches!
With all due respect, it is rather stupid to generalize and offend competitors who actually attending most of the matches.

I don't think the original comment was directed at people that actually attend matches! At least I didn't take it that way!

I know theres less level 3's and less level 2's this year, compared to years past...
So, I'm surprised of the low # of registered shooters
Especially when your matches always have some cool stages
I'm thinking two possible reasons for dismall turn out for a great match and for good cause.
1) even though its for charity, many people just do not want to or can afford to spend that much. they figure, level 1 & 2 are between $10 -$30
so, why not a level 3 be at approx. $50 - $75 ? which I can understand and appreciate. I'd like to see those prices too....$100 with extra for charity is great idea, but many do not want to spend that much..
2) maybe a few shooters are worried about your stormbringing capabilaties...
as though lucky most recently, many matches with rain, mud, etc...and they're too stuborn to come out again ? I don't know, possible ?
why not lower price to $75 and see how many shooters sign up ?
I'm sure most of us who paid full pop will be cool with and understand...though, key word is most, someone likely to complain for rebate if other got discount...?

If it is the difference of $75 from $100 that is keeping people from the match, they shouldn't be there anyways, as they should be thinking where their next meal is coming from!

It may not matter to those who can afford it, but certainly not encouraging to those who cannot. In fact your statements may be degrading to some.
Time, travel and ammunition also play a part in the total cost of attending a match. What could that be, another 100$ at least? In relevance to your next meal comment, $200. could feed a family of 4 for a week. Your 25$ difference is very minimal in the grand scheme of life. Hardly worth the insult.
I'm sure you pride yourself highly for putting on a match, (rightfully so, I commend you for that) and mean well to donate moneys to Cystic Fibrosis, but maybe you could charge a nominal fee for the match and ask for a voluntary donation. After all, a donation is any sum of money one can afford to give willingly. You may even end up with more than you expected from a set amount from x number of people.
Attendance should certainly not dictate your willingness to put on future matches, or affect the cost of such. It should hint that you're doing something wrong attracting more shooters, or at least to read back to yourself what you wrote before posting.
