Tavor vs Swiss Arms(Help me!)

Got a big head?

I just mounted a 2.5-10x32 on .885 rings on my flat top BS. The eyepiece almost kisses the rail.

I own both. Swiss all the way.

I'd suggest geting both in the end. Maybe an FS2000 while your at it.

The Swiss is worth the money. Tavors are not that expensive to make but IWI feels that their price point is what the market is willing to pay for their product. The Swiss Arms actually reflects the cost of materials and production.

Hey Pauly where u from? Have you shot both the SwissArms & the Tavor?
If you're from Montreal, come down to L'acadie this morning. We usually show up at 9:00 am, have breakfast, shoot a round or two of trap and then obliterate paper at the rifle range.

I'll bring my San CQB & the Tavor (both are crowd-pleasers) in case you show. I'll be driving a painfully-blue Toyo FJ Cruiser :D

PS: Trigger and quality-wise, the San is a work of art. But I don't regret my criminally-expensive Tavor for an instant. Very, very comfy to hold.

L'Acadie? Un club de tir d'Acadien lol??

Peter, I have shot neither. And I actually only seen the Tavor in person for a minute. I'm in Alberta, but I might be passing by Montreal soon. I'll shoot you a PM, maybe if you are already heading to the range I would more than appreciate going and finally get some first hand action on both!

Thanks a bunch for the offer :D

is that just the standard Swiss Arms Black Special? It looks amazing

Thanks. It's the Black Target special. It has a flat top rail with flip up back up sights. It's a lot easier to mount optics on this model compared to the original.
That being said you do lose the excellent standard sights. If you're planning on going with bigger optics for a varmint/designated marksman rifle then this is the one to get. If you plan on only using the stock sights and or with an Eotech/Aimpoint etc then the regular model would be the ticket.

i dont know about the SAN's accuracy. I mean looking at this thread:

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=498710&highlight=review+rifle

dude made a 3.058" with factory ammo and 1.195" with handload. I mean its like the average rifle out there and im sure the tavor can do just as good. The Norc M4 even made a better group with factory ammo. just saying.

Have a look here. And 1.1" is plenty good for an infantry rifle that is not free floated. Mine does 1.5 inch 3 rounders with AE prone but so what? Most people cant shoot that good once you get their a** away from their shooting bench and sandbags anyway so what does not matter? They are not benchrest rifles!!
