Anyone use one? I was drooling over (fortunately not on) one of the 1-4x24 models at P&D yesterday after reading a review in Shooting Times. Anyone have any real experience with one? First glance tells me it's a sweet piece of glass, but this is coming from a guy who has never spent more than $150 on optics :p

Nope. didn't look at that one. I was there picking up my birthday present, and a friend was texting me in a panic, so I couldn't stick around long. Next weekend is customer appreciation day, I'll more than likely be there to drool some more, and pick out my Xmas present :)

The TR24 Accupoint has received great reviews. Its is slightly larger than the Nightforce 1-4 but smaller than the S&B Short Dot. Super clear glass and tough. The tip is the triangle is 4 MOA at 100 yds, so if you precision groups at that range or higher you'll need a different reticle like the German #4.

I'll be the guy who looks like ryan seacrest

Hi Grizz,
I've had a 1.25-4x24 accupoint on my bolt action .308 for 6 years. It's been great. Good for up close fast shots, but still able to shoot a 1 inch group at 200 yds. I like the fact that it doesn't need a battery. I have used a lighted-reticle leupold on a work rifle in which the batteries died quickly even with the switch off.
Get one, you won't regret it.

:agree:
This is my next purchase for my M14 as I just tried 1 this weekend and got to say the green reticale really suprised me on how it dosn't really blend in with the back ground and also the ability to shoot with both eyes open.
Great optic but I just wish that it was 1x to 8x instead of 1x to 4x.

Saw one and then saw through one at our CQB shoots, Langemark Range, Base Borden. It was mounted on a Springfield Armory CQB (restricted) M1A. Very nice piece of kit. Bright as heck with that fiber optic bar. Wow! Does that thing ever bring your eye to the reticle FAST! :D

Quite amazing! Actually, it's more like 'Scary amazing'....

I used the 3-9x this summer in Zimbabwe. I did a review of it in the HUnting and Sporting Arms forum - http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=501885&highlight=trijicon

Bottom line is that I was unimpressed. The illuminated triangle is too large (illuminated portion should be 25% the sizer that it is), the illumination is too bright and distracting even when turned all the way down in brightness) and the glass quality was poor, exhibiting the "fish-eye" effect. I did look through the demo at P&D and it looked better but there are fundamental problems with the illumination system that I cannot get past. I shot 5 animals using that scope, missed two and wounded one (a baboon). FOr the price the scope should be better and the system should have been though through better.
