-flagging tape

-few small rope pullys
-calls, sents, cover spray, ect

-lighter and matches
-dry kindling (enough to be able to get wet wood found in the bush to burn)
-high protien and chaloric foods
-2 changes of clothes
-extra jacket
-tent
-sleeping bag and pad or airmatress
- multiple flashlights and extra batteries
-cooler
-eating utencils, pots pans ect.

I take a gun ammo and water a drag rope knife and calls cant get more than 1/2 concession from the road.

I pack earplugs with me, just a few pairs of disposables. Not sure why. When hunting in groups, sometimes someone requests a pair for when shooting multiple deer in the field or something. Also good if someone brings a big boomer...

You forgot a change of boots!

Seriously, unless it's more than one night, I bring:
The clothes I'm wearing,
gun,
ammo,
small neck knife,
food,
water,
a rope,
flagging tape,
climbing spikes,
GPS,
compass,
laminated mini-map of area if it's somewhere new,
10x10 tarp if overnight,
maybe a sleeping bag,
a pack to put everything in,
tags and a cigarrette lighter and licenses in a plastic ziplock
matches and a lighter and
a whistle.

I have a several part answer for this:

In my day-pac or webbing I carry knives ( 1 good skinner and several smaller general purpose with good edges), small rope, flagging, small roll of plastic rather than tarp, lighter, ammo ( Duh ! ), compass, and small food supply and water.

In a Rubbermade tub in case I take off for the day with someone in another vehicle, I take a second knife, longer rope, spare dry footwear, more gloves , warmer clothes and more food and more water. And don't laugh, I have a pack of baby-wipes, they clean guts and fat off your hands like nobodys business.

We have developed a bare minimum checklist that each member of the party has to go through before leaves town. After that they can take everything they own, if they chose.

Gun
Ammo
Licence
Suit and hat (Legal hunting colour requirement)
Knife (You can get by with your jack-knife if you have to)

If you have these you can get by. If you don't you may as well stay home. In addition I really like having my binos and rangefinder, but thats just one unit now. A folding brisket saw is handy to keep in the truck. Usually one can find a couple of bale strings shoved in a pocket somewhere.

A loin cloth and a spear.

You girly men call yourselves hunters? sheesh ;)

Loin cloth AND a spear. I thought I was going heavy when I went with a flint knife (that I chipped myself) and a sling (made from last year's deer hide).
I ditched the loin cloth a couple of years ago, made too much noise when stalking. Now, it is just perfect. However, I hunt alone, thankfully.

You running deer down with the truck you pack all this stuff around in?

You have a camp list there, not hunting kit.

kjohn is on the money. Never leave the house or the camp without dry moonfloss!

Cheers

Yeah that certainly seems like a huge list for just going hunting. For general deer/moose/bear hunts (sheep is a little different) I tend to go with:

-Rifle
-4 rounds
-Knife and sharpening stone
-Headlamp
-Tags/Pal/Registrations
-Binoculars
-Flagging tape.
-Lighter
-Chapstick
-A few folds of ass wipe in a back pocket

You can spot, shoot, track, gut, and then go home for the pack board/pickup with all that stuff, and it all fits in your pockets. Don't really need much else.

Stuff that stays in the truck

-8x10 heavy duty tarp-
-skinning Knives
-roll of poly
-backpack

-basic first aid kit
-extra gas for truck
-4L of drinkable water
-lighter
-food (jerky)
-2 changes of clothes
-extra jacket
- multiple flashlights and extra batteries
-Tags/Pal/Registrations

I am usually hunting ptarmigan and covering a lot of open ground with my dog. I pack light if possible, If I am going for 4 hours or so I don't usually bother with food except a chocolate bar. I just drink water from a pond or brook. I usually just carry a fanny pack and keep the ammo and any birds in my hunting vest.

hunting knife
leatherman wave
20 shotgun shells (various types)
shotgun
dog whistle
dog leash
dog treats/food
goose call
duck call
small first aid kit
binoculars (10X28)
my lucky charm (zippo lighter)
10 feet of small diameter rope
compass
smart phone/gps
camera (sometimes)
licenses

First aid kit contains:
bandages
triangle bandage
gauze
tape
pain meds
emergency poncho
matches
spare batteries

If I'm going on a longer trip I would take my backpack and add in
rain gear
additional food (for me and the dog)
water
